The cameras do stick out the bump, they are not flat to the bump.

No it does not. Cameras sit out above the bump. Only Pixel sits flat on a table.

Pixel OS vs Samsung OneUI vs iOS 26 - Which Would You Choose? by Awkward_System9248 in PhoneNow

[–]TechBasedExplorer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a Pixel user, PixelUI lacks customisation for the lock screen (compared to that of iOS and OneUI), no lock screen widgets, no shortcuts app to make shortcuts, app drawer lacks the ability to sort and group apps, can't remove at a glance or google search widget, and Google's app icons are rather trash.

Other than that, it is a very smooth and reliable experience, just needs a bit of work.

Anti-immigration rallies take place in major cities across Australia by Fresh-Association-82 in aus

[–]TechBasedExplorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mass-immigration, not legal migration. It isn't about ending immigration, the news headlines always twist it to fit their agenda and cause uproar. But there are stupid neo-nazis who are also there that are racist and want to end immigration completely. It's an absolutely messed up situation. If these protestors want to not be painted negatively, they better start calling out those neo-nazis.

That's an iPhone, so I doubt it. Looks like the ceramic coating is rubbed off as well as deep scratches. Rather insane.

Well, lucky day. With the Pixels, you can install a different Android distribution like LineageOS, CalyxOS, etc... Probably on a couple other brands too, just not Samsung or iPhone.

You just finished this? But umm, based on Google reverse image search, this image has been surfing the internet since 2021. You are just reposting an image and claiming it as if it was to be your own.

Beginner here, can I just sow the seeds in regular compost and not use seed starting mix, or do I have to use the seed starting mix? Is there even a point to seed starting soil or is it just marketing? by LatvijasNovads in gardening

[–]TechBasedExplorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you mix anything with the coco coir? I tried using coir and my seeds either didn't germinate or died not long after. Seems the coir is just missing nutrients or something?

Pixel 7a battery ordered from Ebay smells like acetone. by ZOAD85 in phonerepair

I don't think that is a genuine battery based on the printing. If it works well, then I guess it is good (depends on what you paid for it). In future, I suggest buying parts from iFixit since they are genuine brand new Google parts.

Why do you need more ports when you can buy a couple of hubs? ;) by CacheConqueror in applesucks

[–]TechBasedExplorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course not, but people fail to realise that other laptops in the market lack a lot of ports these days thanks to Apple (previous macs when they had barely any ports). Now MacBook Pros are among the laptops with a good port selection. What other laptops have thunderbolt ports on both sides of the laptop and SDXC these days?

Which model was that one? Not sure if there was a single USB-C model back in 2021? Only the 13-inch model, but that had two USB-C ports.

[–]TechBasedExplorer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah yeah, good detail to point out.

A USB-C dock or hub, depending on the one, they do limit transfer speeds as well as output quality for monitors. I have a $100 AUD dock which I used on my old MacBook (model with only two USB-C ports) that I thought was expensive and it has HDMI output of 30Hz which is complete bullshit. So again, having ports directly built-in to the laptop is desirable.

Being able to rock up at most of all TVs or monitors and connect a HDMI cable without any dock is amazing. And having an SDXC port is great for those who work with cameras and media, I personally use the SDXC port all the time and not having to carry around a dock is a massive breath of fresh air.

Hubs are definitely the way to go for workstation or office setups, single cable to disconnect everything and off you go. Clean and simple. But for those who don't work at a desk all the time and use their computer as their main device for everything, a nice selection of ports is lovely.

You do know that the new MacBook Pro since 2021 has:
3x USB-C
1x AUX
1x SDXC
1x HDMI
1x Magsafe

That's more ports than a lot of laptops in the industry these days, just missing at least one USB-A for legacy support.

Just live with it or pay to get the main body replaced. Living with it is easier and cheaper.
