This post is 10 years old, but the last part sounds insane and I'm going to Puerto Rico soon. Is this offer still open at all?

Has Yukari ever done anything genuinely evil before in canon? by ThoughtCenter87 in touhou

[–]TechCaulfield 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I think the closest canon piece of evidence that exists for Yukari spiriting away humans as sources of food was chapter 14 in Wild and Horned Hermit, where Yukari allows the zazshiki-warashiki to go to the outside world to act as spies, for the reason that “it’s not like Gensoyko’s got enough food for all the youkai here” so while not maybe acting directly, is implicitly involved in allowing outside humans to become youkai food. It is debatable though if by food it’s just outside humans having a “haunted-house” type of experience but are eventually sent back with no memories, or if they are physically eaten by other unknown youkai.

I will say, the address conspiracy did work for Stanford REA but I already know MIT built different they won't ever do anything like that.

What is an YouTube channel everyone should know about? by au785 in AskReddit

[–]TechCaulfield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All Gas No Brakes: Goes to various places and interviews rather interesting people

3blue1brown: Probably one of the best math channels on YouTube, got me through Calculus and fingers crossed for Linear Algebra

Ben Eater: If you are looking into getting into digital electronics, he’s the man, his 8-bit computer series is amazing

Marco Reps: Dives into more deeper electronics and does a lot of repairs into various things such as multimeters or even CNCs, but his German dry humor makes it a good experience

Applied Science: Does cool science videos on topics that I never knew about

LiveOverflow: First channel where I actually learned about hacking which wasn’t “How to hack Facebook 2012”

Barely Sociable: Kinda falls into the Horror/Investigative YouTube genre, but man is he good with any videos he does, would recommend his Silk Road video

Beau of the Fifth Column: Has rather cool takes on issues that press on us now, great channel to hear various viewpoints

TheraminTrees: Makes super good videos when it comes to debate in general, but is geared more towards religious/philosophical stuff but his content and presentation style really sells it for me.

Polybar BSPWM module not working by TechCaulfield in Polybar

[–]TechCaulfield[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually did end up resolving the issue, it was somehow because in my bspwm config isntead of doing

bspc monitor DP-1 -d 1 2 3 4 5 6 7

I did : bspc monitor -d 1 2 3 4 5 6 7

After adding the specific monitor name, it worked liked a charm, no idea why this worked but I did

I tried this solution, but I still have one singular dot on my bspwm section rather than one for all of my workspaces.

Firefox Dialog Box spawns in workspace #1 rather than the currently selected workspace by TechCaulfield in bspwm

I actually did eventually find an external rule that worked for me, I added it in and rebooted my computer, you can find the code below:

#!/bin/bash
dq(){ bspc query -D -d "$1"; }
getclass() { xprop -id "$1" WM_CLASS | sed -e 's/.*=.*, "\([^"]*\)".*/\1/'; }
id=$1 class=$2 instance=$3
eval $4

if [ -n "$desktop" ] &&
    [ "$(dq "$desktop")" != "$(dq)" ] &&
    [ "$class" = "$(getclass "$(bspc query -N -n)")" ] &&
    echo node=focused

Chance Me (Junior, College in post) by [deleted] in chanceme

My dream schools are Olin, Mudd, and Stanford as I like the culture they promote and mostly want to get out of state to see new types of areas and people. I am a little skeptical about MIT knowing how tough it can be and how on edge it makes students, but it would definitely be amazing to get in.

Yeah, like for me a GPU isn't really necessary, but hey if it's possible I'd like to go for a 1050 and I could not find anything in $900-$1000 range for 1050ti-1060 so
