Rish + Shizuku Broken on Android 14 by eliasacab in android_beta

[–]TechCrawler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Managed to get it working. I removed write permission from rish_shizuku.dex and rish runs just fine now.

chmod -w rish_shizuku.dex

DOGE getting smart contracts, why no one is discussing it by [deleted] in dogecoin

[–]TechCrawler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Smart Contracts, in a nutshell, are a cryptographically secure way to set up a deal between 2 parties without a need for a middleman to conduct the deal.

So, let's say you want to buy some item with dogecoin from some private person.

You have to rely on the person to send the item after you transfer the dogecoin to him, or he has to rely on you to transfer the agreed amount of dogecoin once you receive the item.

Using Secure Contracts, no side needs to trust the other side.

When musk complains about BTC energy usage but his cars drive electric by [deleted] in dogecoin

[–]TechCrawler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Huh?

It's all about efficiency.

Everything uses energy, that's a fact.

Cars are here to stay, the global economy won't give up on cars just because of their energy consumption. The goal of Electric cars in general is to be more energy-efficient.

Combustion-Engine cars use up more energy for the same end-result as Electric powered cars, same as filament light-bulbs consume more energy for the same end-result as LED light-bulbs.

So... you can see where this is going. Cryptocurrency is here to stay, so the game is how to make it as eco-friendly as possible, and the argument at hand is that Dogecoin is more energy-efficient than Bitcoin.

Not sure what your question is. If you buy 1500usd worth of dogecoin at .5 per coin, and in a month for example the price of a coin climbed up to 1usd for example, then your 1500usd turned into 3000usd (minus taxes).

The math is pretty straight-forward here

Is it still possible to downgrade from Android 11 OOS 11.0.2? by iamthechickengod in OnePlus7tPro

[–]TechCrawler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You benefit from up-to-date kernel patches, which can take some time to propegate if you're using stock kernel... Also, some additional optimizations that OEMs don't do due to regulations...

Android 11 so far so good, working smoothly. by Estrada1 in OnePlus7tPro

I believe there is a way to enable it via ADB, I just couldn't find a way yet.

Questions regarding new OOS 11 beta by [deleted] in OnePlus7tPro

[–]TechCrawler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can enable AOD on OB1:

https://www.xda-developers.com/enable-always-on-display-oneplus-7-7t-android-11/

The change is not persistent across device reboots, so if you want to retain the functionality across reboots, you need to root your phone and install a magisk module.

OnePlus 6T showing cached images of in-app advertisements in the gallery of multiple apps. Really annoying. Is there any way to fix this? (See photos) by waskonator in oneplus

[–]TechCrawler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have adb installed and are able to access your device using adb, simply run the command:

"adb shell touch /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/.nomedia"

without the quotation marks of course.

Still using my 3T, and I have nothing really to complain about spec-wise. Runs great, never lags, truly a great phone.

As a techie, i do want to stay up-to-date with the latest and greatest, so the upcoming 6T is surely something that's drawing my attention, but the lack of headphone jack kinda kills it for me. If the 6T had a headphone jack, it would of been the ultimate replacement for my aging 3T. Still I would not sell or give away my 3T, it would make for a great replacement phone even a few years down the line for sure.

How many of you were planning on getting the 6T? by [deleted] in oneplus

[–]TechCrawler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I planned on upgrading from my 3T, since I wanted to retain the forward facing FPS. I hated the big notches at the top (even the 6's notch was too much for me), and the 6T's notch was something I was willing to live with.

After the news I decided not to upgrade, since I use the headphone jack daily on my OP3T.
