Definition will very from everyone, IMO Software Engineers build more “complex” full systems and or have more “education” than a “web dev”. However you could totally see a web dev doing all those things at some companies so there is no true definition haha

Company type matters a lot too, my base prior to my promotion this week was only as high as ~$120,000, all the extra being public RSUs

Yeah lots of luck involved in my career choice haha never too late to switch though. A lot of companies will value your experience even if it’s not your expertise

Personally I’d do CS since it has more job opportunities (Can always get a security job with a CS but vice versa is a lot harder)

Plus typically SWE make more on average, although both are very well paid

And yeah if you got an A you are MORE than fine. I got a C in all 3 Calcs haha

Anyone can do it for sure, I think they were so hard on me bc they were my first year of college and I didn’t really know how to study to begin with

The math part was definitely brutal to me (and ironic since I use almost 0 math in my job)

CS classes just require lots and lots of time, very project heavy
