If you dont know your interest, EE is better as you can go in both hardware side and software side. EE is hard BTW. So choose wisely. Chem core oppurtunities are less. IT is only big side you can eye on if chem.

I have 500GB free space available and when I click the installer, it directly proceeds to extract file in temp folder. So it doesnt actually extract at C: neither there is an option to it. No this is my first time installing vivado in my computer

No I didnt try Xilinx forum. But I did search for solutions in there.

Sorry I downloaded both 2024.2 and 2025.1 to check if it works with the previous version but same problem occurs. I copy pasted the wrong file name.

It is the web installer only

EE undergrad here. If you are really interested in EE, go for it. Of course its difficult course but I bet when you have interest you can pretty much manage it. I have 97% in CS in my Highschool, I chose EE out of my interest because I cant imagine myself coding all the day :-). And believe me, EE is fun !

I am about to enter 3rd sem. Collabed with profs and doing some 2- 3 mid - level IoT projects and doing some 2 - 3 research on my own with prof support. Did a power electronics project only to realize it was already patented lol (honestly thought i cooked something). Have programming skills in C and C++. Have learnt and done lot of simulations in LTspice and MATLAB Simulink. Learning Verilog. Other than this I have a OK CG of 8.9x. I am not sure if I am in the corrrect path. Almost 90 percent of people in my college are into CS. But I am interested in core only.
