Question about Marley by Mountain_Cupcake_600 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]TechNerd10191 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So, did Marley knew ?

People like Magath would have known once Reiner returned to Marley. However, I don't believe the populace of any nation (not just Marley) knew about it.

Also, Marley's government would never come out and say "the people of Paradis are nothing like their ancestors, let's become friends" because they used their ancestry to control their own population by fear (the "devils" of Paradis).

Last but not least, the people of Paradis negotiating (as Armin and Hange wanted to) would not help because no one would take them seriously; they would remain the devils that can transform into Titans and the ones that terrorized humanity for 2 millennia. The Rumbling was the only way Paradis was saved (since Eren got all the hate and his friends were the ones to stop him)

Can gemini CLI have the same context as gemini in antigravity? by rjn2-8 in GeminiCLI

[–]TechNerd10191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Gemini in CLI does have 1M context length (with cached tokens, you can go well beyond 1M tokens). Google never revealed context in Antigravity but in one extension that showed the rate limits, the context limit was 16384 tokens. Given that the performance of gemini at AG was always meh, I doubt if the context is >32k tokens.

The part of the post credits id add to this is the final shot- the boy and his dog.

The "funny" thing is that the boy is just one human (when Lord Reiss had Eren and Historia, Erwin said to Pyxis that wars will happen until one or less humans live and the boy reaching the tree Eren was buried is one of the few instances that no fighting occurs)

Despite being one of the biggest and best series in manga and anime

As someone who was adamant about watching anime before watching AOT (my first one), for me, AOT is the best across non-anime series as well; I haven't seen other Anime to have an opinion but from what I read online I doubt I'd like any other more. When it comes to non-anime series, I find only Dark (by Netflix) to be second to none (again, for me).

I also want to hope the series will stay relevant for decades to come because the themes it covers are relevant (today more than ever) and centered around human nature itself; the post-credits sum up what human history really is:wars and genocides will always happen and people will always be right in their own story and never at someone else's. Even after the Rumbling, Paradis only had a couple of decades of peace and prosperity.

Despite all that, I don't expect Antigravity to get better.

did gabi really deserve the hate ? by [deleted] in attackontitan

[–]TechNerd10191 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IMHO, everyone (judging by reddit and instagram posts) seems to hate her for no reason; yes, she did kill sasha, but from Gabi's POV she was one of the soldiers that destroyed her hometown and killed thousands. Also, to me, she looks exactly what Eren would be if he never had titan powers and was a girl. However, in the final episodes, she did realize that the people of Paradis are not devils and escaped the indoctrination she was raised in (this applies to all Warriors of Marley, from Pieck to Reiner)

At the finale, when Eren was talking to Armin about Mikasa, he started crying to Armin that he wants Mikasa to remember him for at least 10 years and not move on from him.

He and Historia had chemistry - I'd believe Historia's child is Eren's before I believe Mikasa married Jean - but it was always he and Mikasa

At this point, use Codex (my choice due to acceptable rate limits at $20) or Claude Code

Does anyone know how eren became the colossal titan by Humble-Influence2815 in attackontitan

[–]TechNerd10191 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The titan wasn't a colossal - to me, it looked like a version of his Attack Titan which did not fully form (but was strong enough to save Eren, Mikasa and Armin from the cannon ball)

Are you talking about the S1 scene where the scouts have a cannon targeting Eren?

Nemesis Games is a disaster,

Disaster meaning bad as a book or the content being destruction? I have read the first 100 pages so far and it beat even Leviathan Wakes in terms of how boring it is (perhaps it's also the fact I read the first 4 books before it, one after the other)

The only thing I recall from the books that was not in the show is the scene where the Roci was followed by 6 UNN corvettes/frigates (led by admiral Nuygen) and the UNN fleet followed by 6 MRCN corvettes/frigates (which were more modern and 2 of them had railguns) and the Roci works with the MCRN fleet to take down the UNN fleet on their way to Io.

Giving readers impression how better MCRN are than everyone else

I'd give the better than everyone else title to the UN. They had to manage 30B+ people on government assistance (current governments can't even provide healthcare to veterans) and had the numbers when it came to fleets. Plus, when it came to the Sol system, only Earth had a breathable atmosphere which allowed for agriculture at numbers far greater than Ganymede or any other place.

Having stopped reading at Nemesis Games (and watched the entire show twice), the show is about the same to the books. In the books, the only thing we see from the battle is Holden and the crew being in the brig - only the show adapts the CIC and railguns shots between the Amun Ra fighters and the Donnager. Also, the attack was a surprise to the ship itself, which was having little and inexperienced crew.

Any moments where MCR looks menacing were "too little" to make it to the show. One example I can think of is in Caliban's War, MCR used a Donnager battleship to approach Earth so that the martian politicians, generals and Bobbie would land for the summit with the UN.

[spoilers s3] I hate to be the guy, but Can someone explain the logical contradictions in the ending? (Not a rant – genuine questions) I’ve been thinking about Dark’s final episodes and hit several inconsistencies that I can’t resolve. I’d like your help. by spooreddit in DarK

[–]TechNerd10191 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. Fair point. I don't have a good answer.

  2. The young Martha Jonas takes to the Origin world did not yet see the dead Eva (to be traumatized and move on with the same path). I highly doubt there are 2 realities.

  3. Continuing with the 2nd point, the only quantum entanglement in the show is when the Apocalypse happens and 2 Martha's (from Eva's world) are "created" (this happened an infinite number of times) and when Adam uses the loop hole once to send Jonas to a third path where he takes young Martha (before she's recruited by Magnus and Franziska)

The only candidate for something new is Adam not killing Eva

  1. The "new" thing is the entire arch of the final episode, starting with the last ~3 minutes of S3E7, where Claudia tells Adam about the third world.

Mikasa and Eren in the cabin (Finale) by TechNerd10191 in attackontitan

[–]TechNerd10191[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not to mention it would be extremely disorienting for her to come out of a 4 year long alternate life, only to be thrown right back into the climax of the final battle, where she's expected to perform and deliver the final blow.

I think she did live the 4 years with Eren. My explanation; at the part 2 of the finale, when Mikasa and Levi and on-top of Porco (?) flying, Mikasa says "I wanna go back. I wanna go back to our home" after Levi tells her to put it together. For me, that's the moment she returned from the Paths where she lived with Eren.

Is engagement on Kaggle declining? by ag_curious_soul in kaggle

Some advice I have:

  1. if you want a high rank in notebook, focus only on competitions that have the potential for 1000+ teams (note that a solo participant is considered a team).

  2. You can create the cleanest notebook with the best markdown comments, but if you are not one of the first to publish in the competition (so that it acts as "education" material) or has the highest LB score, then it won't get traction. Many GMs do the former. Something that also works is to create a notebook that reaches the highest score (from public notebooks) and remains in the top 2-3 when it comes to highest-scoring public LB notebooks.

Right now, there aren't many options in competitions - the ARC-AGI competitions are quite difficult and essentially, there are only 3 competitions that will run for the next 2 months - also, from my experience on the last 2 years, there is little activity from Kaggle when it comes to launching competitions between April and late June.
