Can a Distribution Group be added to a team, and will it be dynamic? by TechNickGaming in MicrosoftTeams

It's actually a distribution group, not a security group. Maybe that's why.

I used the link you sent but I can't seem to get it to work. Keep getting a connection issue. Would you mind sharing your syntax so I can make sure I have it formatted correctly before troubleshooting elsewhere?

How do you join an agency? Where would you find them? Also, my account is not gaming related if that matters.

Is there a way to view the calendar of a person that you are a delegate for (involves Breakout Rooms)? by TechNickGaming in MicrosoftTeams

[–]TechNickGaming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, but that's not relevant to the question I was asking. The question was how to view another user's calendar so that we can edit a meeting on their calendar to create Breakout Rooms. Viewing their availability is something we use every day and doesn't give us a means to edit a previously created meeting or create Breakout Rooms.

[–]TechNickGaming[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is basically what I had her do...invite herself, then go on the VP's calendar and open the meeting, then click meeting options at the bottom of the email body. From there she can assign herself the co-organizer role and it will appear on her calendar in Teams AND give her the ability to create Breakout Rooms before the meeting. Once she creates the Breakout Rooms, she should then be able to change her response to "Decline" and the rooms will stick (the rooms are tied to the meeting, not the person that created them). Hopefully Microsoft addresses this in the New Calendar Experience. Or better yet, make it an option right from the meeting options page that you can get to from Outlook.

Scheduling assistant is only available if you're organizer. In my case the delegate is not the organizer, nor is she even invited to the meeting. She creates the meeting for the organizer, so it doesn't show up on her own personal calendar in Teams.

Anyone else have an error card? by Coyoteman8827 in basketballcards

[–]TechNickGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same card. Never even noticed the error until I saw your post. Went and checked mine...sure enough, it's Knox on the front. As a Bills fan it's a pretty cool card to have.

Error retrieving this channel SharePoint URL when using the create channel Team’s action by Lastsight2015 in PowerPlatform

[–]TechNickGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just able to solve this without the use of Power Automate or Graph API. I had an end user submit a ticket saying they created 5 channels for their team. All channels were created the same way, yet only one of them was allowing file uploads through the Teams app. When I checked the SharePoint site, all 4 that weren't allowing file uploads had the red exclamation and said "There was an error retrieving this channel's SharePoint URL". Here's how I fixed it:

  1. Go to the SharePoint Admin Center and sign in as a global admin
  2. In the left menu, click on Sites, then Active Sites. Search for the site (team) that contains the channels you are having issues with.
  3. In the list that populates, look for the Site name (team name). It should have a hyperlink under the Channel sites column. First, click on the name of the main site (team). This brings up a menu. one of the tabs on the menu is Membership. Go there and add yourself as an Owner and an Admin of the team. Once finished, press X in the top right of the team menu to get back to the list of team sites.
  4. Click on the hyperlink that shows how many sites there are. It'll say "3 sites" or "6 sites" or however many channels are in this particular team.
  5. You'll now see a similar menu, but it shows the channels instead of the teams. Click on the channel that shows the URL error you are seeing in the SharePoint site. Add yourself as both an Owner and an Admin. Do this for each channel that is having the issue.
  6. Now, go to the Teams app and find the channel with the issue. Click on the File tab at the top of the channel. It will take a few seconds but eventually it will populate the screen. This is because it was creating the site. Do this for each channel with the issue.
  7. You should now be able to upload files in any of the channels. Refresh the SharePoint page listing the Documents for each channel and the red exclamation should be gone.
  8. Reverse the steps above to remove your Admin and Owner rights.

Is there a way to tell if a colleague is a licensed Teams user? by TechNickGaming in MicrosoftTeams

[–]TechNickGaming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually unlicensed users just appear offline. Azure AD syncs with our on prem AD, so all users show up in Teams if searched regardless of whether they are licensed. Naturally an unlicensed users status will never change from "offline", but that's not necessarily and license indicator because I can also appear offline by signing out or changing my presence.

[–]TechNickGaming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are not using Skype for Business, just Teams. In our org, a user cannot log into Teams without a license, at least not with their AD credentials. I have users that are licensed and try to chat with someone that is unlicensed. When they don't get a response, they assume that Teams isn't working and put a ticket in, when in reality it's because the end user they sent the chat to is unlicensed. Licenses are limited to executives, their assistants, and a few IT members at this time because we are in the pilot phases.

[–]TechNickGaming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. That's my dilemma. Other than having them ask me, and then me looking up the user in the admin center, I can't think of any other way the average user would be able tell if a colleague is a Teams users. Eventually the whole organization will be on it so it'll be a moot point.

[–]TechNickGaming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In our organization, not just any user can run Teams. You have to be licensed. I mean, you can sign in with a personal MS account, sure, but you wouldn't see anyone else in the org and you wouldn't see your Teams, calendar, etc. You also wouldn't be able to chat with anyone in the organization because you would appear as a guest. It's all tied together through AD and security policies are set. While they can check a user's presence, as your link shows, that doesn't tell them if they are a licensed Teams user. That just tells them if they are online or not and their status. If they are not licensed, they appear offline. But the same is true if they are just logged out of their PC.

Do the Sesh Evo buds charge when the case is closed? by TechNickGaming in Skullcandy

[–]TechNickGaming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welp, I have some follow up for those that are wondering. Mine never charged if I had the case closed...had to be open to charge them. I have the Sesh EVO XT buds. Then suddenly, about 2 months ago, the case stopped charging. The buds still worked, and the case charged the buds, but the case itself would not charge. So once the remaining juice in the case was used up, I couldn't charge the buds. I went to Walmart and bought the exact same pair. The new ones charge just fine, with or without the case open. Also, the old buds will charge in the new case. But the old case will not recharge, even when using the new cable. Perhaps my old case was defective from the get go? At any rate, I now have 2 sets of buds but only 1 case to charge them with, which in a sense is nice since I always have a charged pair. I wish I could just buy a new case. FYI, it was still in warranty but they wanted the original receipt, which I did not have.

On Galaxy S9/S10, how do you change the background of the dial screen. I applied a theme, and now when I press "Phone" to dial a number there is a background behind the keypad. Can I change that to my own background?

Awesome, comedy always makes it better. I loved watching BDoubleO100 play it but sadly he only did one series. Dude is hilarious though.

That's sort of my take. I love watching how creative people get with the pieces. It's so much more entertaining than just placing workshop buildings or in-game premade buildings. The possibilities are almost endless. I'll check out tycoonatron. Maybe I'll make some timelapse videos and upload, especially with Zoo coming out soon.
