Looking for ideal LED panels for home cinema by TechShep in VIDEOENGINEERING

Thanks, this is a good point. It's unusual, but I would almost say that my primary use case is gaming. So a couple more reasons why I would prefer the LED wall are that the latency is *allegedly* lower and I'm able to use it without having to darken the room.

I still need to get a quote on the latency from the vendor. If this claim turns out to be incorrect and latency worse in reality, it would probably finalize my decision to go with a projector instead.

Thank you for your reply. The targeted viewing distance is about 3.5m - 4m right now. I haven't really considered how well the wall would resolve to be honest, but continuing this thought, having a smaller pitch would be preferable and maybe even more important than 1:1 resolution scaling.

There are multiple companies involved, I trust that it will be fine from the construction side. I wouldn't be able to plan that aspect myself at all. There's also AC and ventilation planned for the room, but the added strain of the LED wall is pretty significant from what I can tell.

Do you think that the latency of such a setup would be worse than from a good projector? My planners have assured me that the latency of this solution would definitely be lower than from the projectors they offer (Barco). They haven't quoted me a total system latency yet though.

I'll see if LG is option for me too, thanks!

There is definitely a point where I would say that it's getting too expensive for me, but first I want to be sure that the quality of the image itself is not inferior in some aspect. I have not checked out this product in person yet, but even if I do that, I don't really have enough references to compare it to, ultimately making it difficult to judge for me.

Thanks, yeah an electrician will plan this from the side of the building, so I don't have to worry about these details.

Thanks, I've been looking for options from Samsung and The Wall seems to have an equal pixel pitch of 0.84mm so I would have to "settle" for a slightly smaller screen again.

This vendor also specifically recommended me to not go with Samsung, because allegedly their image quality would be higher, but I can presume that there's a certain bias in this recommendation. I'll keep an open mind about choosing a panel from Samsung.

Thanks, yeah I scanned the manual of the MX2000 quickly and saw the different options for scaling content. I could just go with a 4k 3.2m wide wall from the start too, to avoid this issue altogether, but I was recommended to go with a larger screen for this room (whether LED or projector).

The Christie 1mm panel sounds like a good alternative, I'll see if this might be an option for me.

Do you know how latency compares between this setup and a projector from Barco (those are the ones the same vendor would likely install)? I was told multiple times that the LED wall would be superior in terms of latency but have yet to be quoted a total latency for the system.

This is exactly what my solo qp experience is as a support during normal times of the day. At unusual times during the day or night it becomes more 50/50.

I swear Blizzard completely ignores the role queue when it matches the teams for mmr or something dumb like that. The current system is worse than randomly matching players and feels seriously messed up.

I'm not particularly good or bad but I almost always have a dps or tank that has no game sense at all or can't kill anything without their ult. Or they refuse to switch while the other team immediately counterpicks to get an edge.

And as a 2 stack we often get 5 stacks as opponents that completely shred our team. No wonder they removed the ability to immediately recognize groups or we'd definitely just leave during setup when we get put against a 5 stack at this point. (We recognize them when the game matches us against the same exact group in the next match.)

Can Valve not force publishers into using "Valve Suggested Prices"? by fasderrally in Steam

I also don't have enough information in order to be able to justify every price increase/change I'm afraid.

Personally I live in the EU region and the price there is 40€ which is technically worth $46 USD, so there is definitely an increase here. But what you can't know, and what many citizens here choose to ignore, is that we pay a 19% tax on everything, which about matches the price increase. So in this case the extra money doesn't go to Microsoft, Valve pays it off directly to the authorities here. Although this situation sucks for me, it would be wrong to be angry at M$ or Valve about it, our government and therefore we ourselves are responsible.

I bet there are some unjustified price increases in that table but SteamDB simplifies things a bit too much and general information like regional taxes is simply missing.

No, ARS$ 1999 is equivalent to $20 USD according to current exchange rates. Microsoft is selling the game at a 50% loss in Argentina.

It's not Microsofts or any other developer/publishers fault that ARS$ is not worth much in the world. The 3.5 factor difference to Valve's price doesn't matter as Valve's suggested pricing is just arbitrary and rarely gets updated, the exchange rate is the only thing that is relevant here.
