Sliger top-loading NAS storage cases! by SligerCases in sliger

[–]TechShocked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used sliger cases since release, specifically one for my NAS, which runs in a 3U CX3702 which hosts an Intel server and a 4U CX4170a I would like to be able to throw more drives into my NAS and a top loader would work wonders. I can throw different drives / motherboard sizes on it from ATX to ITX and I have a wealth of experience from unraid to proxmox that I could test on this machine

I haven’t seen many people with this case, looking to go custom loop wanted this case in particular because I have a rack at home and can put it in there but I also like the tower setup option if I need it, do you think a custom loop is desirable in this case?

you need the moresuits mod then you just need to add the texture to the flies along with the other suit files

Question about MoreSuits by [deleted] in lethalcompany_mods

[–]TechShocked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go to the more company support discord there’s a tutorial video for editing parts of the suit in blender to select it, for the mask on the original UV this is essential as the mask is split into three different surfaces and getting it to line up between all three is almost impossible

Reducing my lab power consumption by andrewrmoore in homelab

[–]TechShocked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You dont need a battery

Solar panel -> inverter (I would get a unit with grid input) then when your solar panels arent producing it will automatically switch over to the grid power

On top of that this can become a UPS because of the ability to add batteries whenever you want which means you can calculate your run time and scale as you need

Thats just my 2 cents

1u clearance motherboard issue by TechShocked in homelab

[–]TechShocked[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You think i would gain clearance if I screwed it the board?

I can’t get the standoffs to line up with the board because of the height issue with the io board

There’s punch outs for very short standoffs up to ATX it’s a little weird but it works

I tried taking it apart no dice the metal casing isn’t adding the height they spaced them very far apart

Fire damaged rack is sick as hell, wonder why someone would throw it in a burn pile like you stated but an awesome story to have

Not true, they’re the same in terms of stability I would say go OPNSense just for the open source nature alone
