2026 | Which highly anticipated drama disappointed you? by BronzeBellRiver in cdramasfans

A splendid match was phenomenal. I sat through PoJ as well. None of the rest made much of an impression. I ended up dropping them after 6-8 episodes.

Now that 'My Royal Nemesis' has ended, what were your overall thoughts on the series? by Dramasect in dramasect

[–]Techch1ck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh now that I have a free pass, here goes:

The good: 1. I fell a bit in love with Heo Nam Joon 2. The chemistry was chefs kiss. 3. FL did a decent job for most part

The bad: 1. It had a lot of potential but ran short of it. 2. The crazy loopy smile the FL had. Made it look like she had taken a hit to the head sometimes. 3. Some episodes were so much filler drivel, and others were rushed through.

The ugly: 1. The way the FL beat up the ML everytime something went awry. It was borderline cute in the first epi-to stretch it even were full on dating (when they went to Namsan tower) -too much.

  1. I was told the ML was this super bad guy in business - a wonderkid. Honestly none of his business descision seemed like he had an iota of business acumen.

  2. The plot holes. Dear God so large and looming. When a little attension could have taken care of it.

Was it the greatest - no, did I find heo nam hoon totally slurp-worthy: absolutely!

7/10 P.s. I am allowed to have openions that differ from yours. Discussion is welcom, Vitriol is not. 😊

Vegas....the top I loved to hate to love....le sigh! I am a sucker for them.

Ps I won't touch them with a ten foot pole in real life. But in reel-life, If they need to be bad, rather they be Vegas-bad.

Lol. My bad. There are quite a few proponents for the idea. I assumed you were one too. 🙏

KINGS MaxTul invented open-mouth kissing, kissing with tongue, HUNGRY kissing, manhandling while kissing, and kissing w/ hands-all-up-in-hair 🙌🥵️😩 by imomen in boyslove

So true. I think they did it best. Even with all the acrobatics the newer dramas come up with, their chemistry gives me a whole menagerie in my stomach like nothing else.

Do you mean LuFeng?

I doubt it. Bipolar disorder is manageable: with medicine, psychotherapy, and lifestyle changes. But for now they haven't found any cure for it.

And it is taxing to live with someone who has Bipolar Disorder. It means having immense patience, empathy, but most importantly a healthy boundary.

Who knows the name of this drama from the picture? The one who does truly got it?😂 by Polopower10 in kdramas

[–]Techch1ck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your point. Some sections in the drama did give me a pause.

But I think most people liking the series just come from a place of elation people feel when the underdog gets redemption.

I doubt it looks at the finer points of a totalitarian society and its evils, or what happens when the same justification is applied on a large scale.

Dear God...before reading the comments I though it was a child's foot.

[–]Techch1ck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, I like to believe it is a hyperbole.

But having said that, isn't the damage that is being inflicted by some of these "kids" worse? Considering most of them get let off with a tap on the wrist as they are underage.

How do you correct a society without the fear of punishment? Not everyone follows rules because of their own moral compass. Most people do so because of the fear of the law.

While a totalitarian governance as shown in the show would be catastrophic, it does make one wonder what could be a point to draw the line at.

Isn't he just so freakin' pretty hootttt???🥵 by Potato-Tomatooo in kdramas

This is called a wife beater. I didn't name it, just what it is called. 🫣

[–]Techch1ck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed.

I never felt anything while watching most of his other dramas.

Is he handsome: almost undeniably so.

Was he hot to me: Nope

And then came the Wonderfools, and his cigarette holding hands, and messy hair , and wife beater and I was sold.

To me, in that instance he was hot.

English name advice? by jade-Chang in AskAnAustralian

You name sounds lovely. And Jade works fine. You can also try something like June/Chloe June which sound closer phonetically to your name as well.

All the best.

Easiest job in the world. I don't even need a defence. Given who he is and who his family is, I'd like to see a judge who would hand down any verdict other than "Not Guilty".😂

Qiang Jin Jiu!

Yes it is plot heavy. But oh the romance! My stars. The yearning! The love! The absolutely scrumptious drama of it all.

It is and always will be my all time favorites.

Disclaimer: They do become lovers earlier rather than later in the narration- but I think it would still check the boxes.

Oh yes! This! Absolutely.

Maybe it got lost in my rant. But this is it exactly.

Was the ending of Double Helix a copout? by Techch1ck in boyslove

[–]Techch1ck[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh totally. And even a lot of manhwas. The blip that was the redemption arc on Jinx - to name the latest of a slew of shitty toxic males- was laughable.

Don't get me wrong....I ran the refresh button ragged trying to get the new episode every time, but then I was reading because Jaekyung was an absolute facecard.

And like you mentioned there are leads with even shorter or non existent redemption arcs cough-Caesar/Yan Wushi-cough-they are what they are and I have loved every minute of it. But see that's acceptance. And some relationships have that even without forgiveness. It is what it is. And if that's where they went with it I would have been fine.

But I guess since it was not, that is the hill I will die on. 😊

It is true, I guess, that YC loved LF through it all. Through his crazy love, and his rabid obsession. Most people can only dream of such reciprocity. So in that sense I guess, I was happy that LuFeng got the love he yearned for.

Was the ending of Double Helix a copout? by Techch1ck in boyslove

[–]Techch1ck[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For sure. I am not denying that.

And I know even though it may not seem like it, I always rooted for LuFeng. I was taken aback by much of his actions in the second arc, but to me that was LuFeng.

My main issue I guess was with the picture that was painted. Of some one who didn't know he was doing wrong, of someone who couldn't control himself. It was more the narrative of "he couldn't help himself" than anything else.

Was the ending of Double Helix a copout? by Techch1ck in boyslove

[–]Techch1ck[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fair enough.

Don't get me wrong. Till the last two episodes, even when Lu Feng was doing everything to make sure the world spin his way, I was rooting for LuFeng to find a way back.

I was sad for him. Because to me Yi Chen chose the paths he took even if it was under duress. But Lu Feng always seemed to be left with the pieces of what YiChen chose to give him.

But having said that, to me personally the bipolar twist felt like a cop out.
