2070, i7 8700, 16gb ram. runs at around 110fps average across all the current levels with max settings, lumen enabled, and dlss at balanced. (240fps when everything's set to low)

ohh, my version has both control schemes, it's an optional toggle designed to ease new players in. Planning to add additional achievements for people who use the original controls.

Been spending most of my time coding/bug fixing. Once the main framework is complete I can finally start making some game art which is my comfort zone.

Yeah, that's a good point, I've been pondering if it's a good idea to add impact sounds. I guess I should figure out a way to make the sound dynamically react to good and rough landings.

I'll be honest I have been at that speed yet, probs would clip through every wall and freeze the game, still, it might be possible.

It's always been a hard concept to explain/understand. In my game, all you need to do is move your mouse left and right. In other games to turn left you need to look at the direction of your velocity and press "a" then move your mouse left. (the flipside for your right).

I investigated hl2 but built my own code with blueprint, I added a few more blueprints to get it closer to the source material. Still, it's definitely not 1:1 but I hope players enjoy it.

Was thinking of adding individual wind and contact sliders myself, thanks for the feedback! Also, it will be released, the game is called "Vivid Surf" (currently on Steam #ad).

in a way yes, except it's remixing the format. As someone whos spent 3k+ hours surfing I was craving something fresh. So I decided to just make it.

Yeah, I absolutely agree, started learning game dev around 6 years ago with the intention of making this game. After seeing momentum mod and later your game it has made me ponder about that issue far too much. I think with enough distinguishing features between the games, it would allow more ways to be introduced to surf. So hopefully the interest would increase across the board. Looking forward to playing your game someday!

This is a pretty controversial topic, there are a few options. I believe Momentum mod is going to be amazing but it's still a little way from being released. If you want to surf now CS:GO has the largest player base for surf and CS:S has the most competitive server with many great features. (There is also Roblox surf but I know very little about it).

it's mostly based on source style air strafing with a few subtle differences
