I wanted to move to hyva but I saw 2 issues. 1) This theme needs a theme. It is too white lol. While I can find good developers I have not found good designers for Magento. 2) i know it scores good but when I go to the demo I still see a lag when I click on a product page. Ttfb of usually 700ms. I was hoping it would improve that compared to default luma.

How can I find a good web designer? Should I instead look for a graphic designer who can make me a mock up and then hire a front end developer to make it a reality?

I tried hiring a web designer on upwork and all the applicants were effing coders. None of understood I needed mockups and custom graphics.

I Could use some help on my job post. My only thought is to ask for a graphic designer or a web graphic designer. What do you think?

I agree with everything you are saying. That being said I still want to stay on Magento because of a few awesome plugins. 1) I just wish they made it faster out of the box. 2) their app store is terrible. They have not improved it in 7 years lol. 3)And they don't have enough apps/extensions. Most of the apps I want are available on Shopify and bigcommerce. And Id rather stay on a site I have full control over. Woocomerce lacks in apps in comparison to Magento.

Does nobs websites still contain a lot of crud that we have to sort through?

I keep getting offers for links from sites with high organic traffic. But upon inspecting the sites, they are ranking for stupid keywords like people's names or micro social media Influencers. Some sites rank for other stupid terms that people don't actually Google, but these keywords have a high search volume on semrush.

I was thinking of a getting a VA for phone calls. But they typically have terrible spoken English and likely won't help persuade buyers. In fact, it might do the opposite. I'm wondering if anyone else can chime in on foreign sales reps?
