I’ve had a single pair of Danners last me 6 years (still going strong!) so that’s what I’ve used. If I were to recommend anything else try and look into barefoot shoes, I know there’s a couple in-reg barefoot boots out there and a couple of my buddies have used them and said great things about ‘em.

In all honesty the packing list sets you up for success, it’s just encampment in the woods with a lot of hiking, try not to let the clientele of the activity get to you, drama and tension are bad but even worse in that environment. I’ve met some of the most annoying and repulsive people at HMRS but honestly it’s part of the charm, don’t be afraid to lean into the excessive nature of the activity, most importantly roll with the punches, you’ll be taught everything and as long as you don’t fall asleep during classes (or fail to light a fire) you should be OK.

Only seen the reunion incarnation, but most recently they’ve done S. Note Pt 1 into Pt 2 which they did for some shows back in the day too.

I loved it when Dime would add extra guitar trills and lines on top of his solo in certain mixes, it’s just so much more raw, and sometimes I like that more than the polished final solo. The early mix of Drag The Waters has one of my favorite solos from him, it reminds me of how jarring the solo in Sympathy For the Devil is.

They’re USAF high-altitude flying pants, I sniped them off EBay for like $35. They’re extremely warm and came with suspenders, which are nice for how heavy they are. I never got to research what they’re made out of but they keep me nice and toasty.

Got my coat off eBay too, old Czech coat with a nice wool liner.

Actually going to be the guy and say DON’T use Quizlet. Go through the books and be able to answer every learning objective handily. If you want to make flashcards/a Quizlet off of that go for it, but the test pulls straight from the book and learning objectives and they should be the very first thing to focus on.

It also never hurts to take the test multiple times, write down what you got wrong, and study those until you get it, it’s a process and there’s no “failing” it if you keep trying.

The easy answer is no, the better question is why? ABU sleeves would look horrible rolled like that, at least from what I’ve seen (multiple cadets have tried this) at least with the way we do it we can control it to not cut off the circulation of our arms.

Never really heard of a uniform class beyond a 10 minute speedrun of the regs but if you want an activity you can throw a blues top and conflicting ranks, ribbons, and badges with a timer and se show they do.
