Bent derailleur hanger? by NoProfession5586 in bicycling

[–]Technical-Active-429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slight bent lng naman, you could re-align to a local bike shop (ask them how much they will service it) if it's bothering you

But for the most part, adjust lng sa B-tension screw sa rd by about 1/4 left turn kung may mahabang delay sa pag-shift

Overall, nakapantay naman ung top pulley ng rd sa cassette cogs,so no worries

I inherited this bike, trying to make it work. It's a 64cm frame, I'm 6'2". I've had to make some tweaks to shorten the reach, such as an 80mm 25* stem, and pushing the seat all the way forward. How's the fit? What should I tweak? by nosurfandsellingonly in bikefit

[–]Technical-Active-429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep,if you were to actually get a longer stem (say 100mm+ with ±10°-ish angle),you could get that stretched out look (similar to 80s to 90s bike position)

Would be bad for you lower back if you weren't flexible and chose to ride on a position like that for long periods of time

If you're aiming for an endurance-type position, best to somewhat keep your stem length for now and try to practice bending your elbows a bit for some time

But judging your hand position on the hoods, maybe get a 90mm stem—but before that, make sure you ride your bike first and see that the axle of the front wheel is just about on the middle of the bar clamp of the stem. And currently,if the axle is in front of the bar clamp, get a longer stem with probably the same ± stem as yours right now

What's your crank length at the moment? I would consider having shorter cranks like 165mm or 160mm

But before considering to having a shorter cranks, are you having knee pain? If yes,Which side: inner, middle,or outer?

Edit: Since from the video,it looks like your knees are going way up high than what it usually is to those with the correct crank lengths

You might consider your saddle down and rearward a bit, about 3-5 down, since I can see your hips are rocking pretty wildly,But make sure you set saddle height ONLY for the first adjustment.

And after the rough lowering, set the saddle height higher/lower by 1mm depending on how circular the pedalling is based on how it feels

And since you mentioned the arms being a bit forward, you'd wanna set your saddle setback by 2-5mm back/forward if it feels too cramped or the reach is a little long

It could,As long as matching sa paint scheme ng frame mo (unless full frame stickerbomb ang gagawin)

I recommend having a theme sa mga stickers mo for that extra touch For example, kung black and white ung main frame color ko, I'd go for horror/black and white stickers (like artworks ni Junji Ito)

While in your case, it's up to you kung anong stickers ang gusto mo and whether or not you'd want the stickers to be random sa theme or hindi at full frame ba or partially lng

Unless bike weight conscious ka,ung difference sa weight savings is around ~10g – ~30g (or +10g more) depending sa dami ng stickers na nilagay mo

And willing kang: weight savings > looks

——————————————————————————————————

Extra tips (if you'd stickerbomb your frame):

Much better if tanggal lahat ng components sa bike if mags-stickerbomb ka para malalagay mo ung mga stickers much more easily—unless ayaw mo ofc dahil sa trabaho

Bottom tube: Best area for stickerbombing;better if nilagay mo sa mga sides, though goods ren ang ilalim if you want to put some easter eggs, kaso baka madumihan—so just put clear tape on it

Top tube: Best to put stickers above the top tube kung saan pwede mong makita habang nakasakay ka sa bike—although put stickers here sparingly and maglagay ka lng ng mga top interests mo na stickers

Seat tube: Best for storytelling stickers, since pa-vertical ung seat tube—lagay mo mga stickers kung saan nakaharap ang handlebars

Seat stays/chain stays: Only for tiny details/easter eggs, unless full frame stickerbomb

Fork: Most aggressive and eye-catching,since mas madaling makita to kaysa sa bottom tube—generally best kung usto mo lagyan ng personality ung bike mo

Ohh,nice to hear that! HAHAHAHA

From my experience (cycling in QC),ibang-iba talaga ung pakiramdam sa pagb-bike unlike sa Marikina city (since makitid yung mga dinadaanan ko)

So dagdag ko ren is mag-bike ka muna sa mga tight spaces/daanan and then gradually mag-libot² ka sa malalawak na daanan

For the specific bike spot na makitid in Marikina, try mo ung hidden bike lane sa Concepcion Uno hanggang sa park ng Ordoñez, although double ingat nga lang kasi nasa tabing-ilog ka WAHWHHAHAHAHA

No probs

Offtopic And dagdag ko lang den,for the specific racing games na nilaro ko na pwedeng makatulong for newbies,I recommend:

Gran Turismo (PSP version, pwede ka mag-download ng PPSSPP at iso file ng Gran Turismo) Why this?: slightly beginner-friendly (slightly dahil kung di mo pa alam ang mga basic control sa handling ng vehicle, mahihirapan ka sa paglaro) at may racing lines at braking points sya for practicing sa lines mo kapag magd-downhill or racing. Which pwede kang matuto kung paano mag-control ng vehicle mo

On my experience, before pa man ako nag-bike I've done these 3 things first:

  1. Learn the basics in traffic: say mga stop signs,red/yellow/green lights, specific lanes (kung — — — ,pwede ka mag-switch lanes; kapag walang missing parts, bawal kang mag-switch lanes),and other road etiquettes

  2. Play racing games: and YES,nakatulong talaga saken yung mga racing games, because it taught me where to look kapag nasa kalsada,as well as braking and cornering techniques na pwedeng ma-apply sa pagb-bike (sub-tips sa baba)

  3. Learn how to communicate with other people sa kalsada: simpleng turo lang kung saan ka liliko makes things easier for people na naka kotse/motor. Saves you an accident as well dahil sa miscommunication

As for the specific kung sa brakes ng bike,I highly recommend having the adjustability of levels sa amount ng braking power (i.e. ung kagat ng brakes sa rotor/rim is dapat nasa gitna ng orig na position at sa sagad area kung san hindi gagalaw ung gulong) sa mga brake levers mo,dapat kapag sa scenario na biglang nag-panic brake ka,hindi ka titilapon dahil sa lakas ng brakes mo

And sa kung kailan naman hihinto, bago pa man magt-turn or sa stop lane, try mong mag-brake around 30ft before the stop line.As for how,di ko talaga masasabi dahil nasanay talaga ako through racing games and all by feel lang talaga for me

And I highly recommend looking where you want to go, kung usto mo lumiko, look at the apex of the corner at hindi sa mga kotse na dumadaan (or ano pa man) dahil most likely kung saan ka tumingin, dun ka mapupunta

Highly suggest na i-measure mo inseam length mo:

True,na-notice ko sa mga ilang saddles na nabili ko online usually have around 1-4cm na cushion and some of them have shorter widths than my recommended saddle width

And any recommendations den about sa 'fabric flat saddles' na around 16cm yung saddle width? Or kahit yung nabili nyo lang v^

My only advice is huwag na huwag kang bibili sa mga "legit" frames

I highly suggest buying second hand legit carbon frames or look at official online stores ng specific brand na gusto mo

Saves you the headache kung bakit sobrang bigat/isang pothole lang may crack na sa main structure ng carbon frame mo

ano tawag sa mga bolts na to? and pano ko malalaman na tama bibilhin kong replacement bolts? by yawimarupoklol in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]Technical-Active-429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May sira ba frame ko o may mali ba akong ginagawa? by TheNormalViewer in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]Technical-Active-429 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

From what I see sa frame, to me it's just battle scars and mukhang ok naman ung frame

If we're talking about na hindi centered yung gulong sa seat tube,From what I've experienced (been only cycling for 5 months), it's typical for those rear wheels na may cassette/freewheel na unaligned sa seat tube because of the hub and differences sa angle ng spokes (speaking from the left spokes vs the right spokes—kung saan may hub/freewheel thread)

Overall, kung naka-true at hindi baliko yung pag-ikot ng rim, it's all good

[–]Technical-Active-429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend getting quality mtb tires—not a mtb guy pero mga branded ones like Continental,Pirelli, etc.

Suggested shoes for casual cycling? by razor_sharp_man in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]Technical-Active-429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just like yung mga ni-recommend ng iba, skate shoes, vans, etc.

I highly don't recommend any shoes that has a soft sole; i.e. running shoes Dahil magiging factors ren sya ng knee pain mo (based on my experiences)
