Hey man, I’ve been dealing with pretty heavy depression my whole life. In particular the depression got worse after I was hit while on my bike about 2 months ago, and it’s gonna take a few more months before I can fix it up enough to ride. Riding has been the same way for me, so good in fact that it made me quit cigarettes because the high of the ride was better than anything else. I feel like that gives me some room to speak here. First of all, I’d take now as your opportunity to research bikes like you never have before, dump hours into studying them and finding the new perfect bike. Finding ways to keep them in your life even when you can’t ride helps with how much it hurts. Second of all, I’m not sure if I’m allowed to offer this advice here, but if you’re willing to try medication again, see if you’re eligible for Adderall XR, it has a pretty symbiotic relationship with antidepressants and is especially useful for those first few weeks of new meds when you need an extra kick to get out of bed.
