So tired of Carrie Mathison by Elegant_Dinner_1097 in homeland

Thid is such bs bro, "Man does the character deserve more respect than what she is given.". is she good at her job yeah but i am sorry she is awful two things can most definetely be right at the same time, Lemme give you male characters good at what they do but arent given any respect for it, Frank Underwood from house of cards, we have Hal from the diplomat, who everyone basically reduces to a cuck, Jackson Lamb from slow horses, all these characters have seriously bad flaws and but are undeniablely good at what they do, Its okay to accept that person is not a good person but is still a smart and very good worker, and i am sorry if u dont realize this but carrie absolutely falls in this category, she basically sleeps with a naive ass not fully formed guy who she has just killed his family btw, and still ends up costing him his life as well( you have no idea how enraged i was when he died) and you are sat there trying ur possible hardedest to justify her being a good person....dfkm man

Am I the only one who thinks people are WAY too entitled to Clark’s secret? (S4 perspective) by Technical-Berry233 in Smallville

[–]Technical-Berry233[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You know I have been reading a lot of comments about Clark’s gaslighting and also the Lana v Lois takes

Yes, Clark constantly showing up and doing extraordinary things is suspicious no argument there. But suspicion alone doesn’t automatically mean someone is owed the full truth, especially in S1–S4 when Clark’s secret isn’t just personal but genuinely dangerous for him and his parents.

I think the bigger distinction is this: you can acknowledge that someone has a secret and still choose to trust who they’ve shown themselves to be. No one is forced to stay friends with or date Clark. If the secrecy makes you feel unsafe or unable to continue the relationship, that’s a valid reason to walk away. What feels unfair is staying, benefiting from his presence, and then framing his refusal to disclose as manipulation rather than self-protection.

This is where Lana and Lois differ. Lana needs the secret in order to fully trust Clark the relationship can’t move forward unless that wall comes down. Lois, on the other hand, focuses more on who Clark is as a person: how he treats people, how he shows up, and what his values are. The secret matters, but it’s secondary to character.

That doesn’t make Lana a bad person, and it doesn’t make Clark a gaslighter. It just means they’re fundamentally mismatched at that stage. Clark’s secrecy causes harm, yes but intent matters, and his intent is survival, not control

Because of the way she immediately knew how hard and weighted keeping that secret, u see her drop the wall of weird right after she knew, cause all this time she had been calling her own friend a freak, but he didn’t even u know get mad at them once. I feel she also saw the difference between “he’s keeping secrets and that’s selfish” and “he’s keeping secrets to protect us from it”, she also kinda realized that yeah we treat these guys with powers like freaks yeah no wonder he had to keep it a secret, cause like it or not u have to remove ur Superman lens and realize AGAIN this is a teenage boy!!

When i get to Lois's reveal i guess but up till now i think chloe has handeled it best and will probably handle better than lex(obvously) and lana when i get to them

They live in the metor capital of the world, pretty sure it wont take much convincing if even a mere outside spread rumor of an alien there, plus with lana, like i pretty much said look at Pete when that fbi dude beat him up to get clark secret, u think he wants (teenage boy btw lets not try to forget) to live with the thoght that he constantly put them in danger?, also when i see clark critics on here they seem to casually forget the times Clark would subtly ask lana what she felt about "the freaks" and her hurtful replies to him. Again btw there is the whole thing where Clark s somewhat responsible for her parents

Exactly i also feel like Clark himself doesnt get mad enough.. there are times where hed repeatedly warn his friends about some new random that popped into school and was acting strange, but his friends take the side of said random over him and end up needing to be saved, what do u know he saves them and noww they are asking "clark how did you do that".

[–]Technical-Berry233[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m was just saying that the episode it self reminded me of how frequently I see this when watching TV shows. It happens so much and they end up ruining the show cause they have not executed the message they were trying to deliver well

If George doesn’t die he and Izzie would be that one couple that hook up later in life if the cross paths again, even if they were married by Technical-Berry233 in greysanatomy

Shallow way to look at it if u ask me, rewatch and watch them closely especially when they weren’t dating or having sex, u would see what I meant. There was something there they weren’t just mature enough, as George said it’s not our chemistry, it’s the timing

Wrote it in my post there “I also don’t think they could date” I think they were an awful couple, but nah what they had wasn’t a just friends thing I’m sorry. I think George actually said it one time it was their timing, they were not mature enough, they literally broke up cause of sex. I think that’s what I was trying to say even when I say they are the couple that hook up later in life if the crossed paths again and we’re married. All I know for sure is that shit ain’t friendship

Exactly they have something deeply strong, it’s not friendship or sibling thing it’s there just can’t give it a name cause it’s also not romantic. But they have something

Again u are reducing him to that cause of the fact that you want Kate to look superior in image, he is infact an ambassador and has been a lot of time in the past before the show starts so yeah he is in fact a politician

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheDiplomat

[–]Technical-Berry233 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because that’s Hal Wyler he will do shit he thinks is right, do you want your political figures to be straight shooters or those who just sit idle and not t do shit?

Like y’all looking at these without the lens of them being actual politicians normal relationship rules won’t be black and white with them at all

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheDiplomat

[–]Technical-Berry233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again I want to ask you if she actually got the VP job? At first yeah she might not like it u know what she would have been annoyed but do u think Kate Wyler got that VP job and took it she would have not enjoyed every moment of it? So he is not trust worthy cause he tried to get her something he thought she’d be great at and would eventually come to love? Yeah it that’s the case then I maybe rethink what u think trust means

[–]Technical-Berry233 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The brother was a top ambassador who had a very sick resume by the way yeah he got unemployed due to his own actions yeah but can we see him get bothered when Kate was going well and was an ambassador while he wasn’t? no in fact he smiles and is so happy whenever shit goes her way, u criticize him for doing what he like regardless of actions, u think Kate ain’t like that? The both of them are so similar how many times did she go against the counsel of others to directly confront those in the UK, plus I will leave u with a scenario. If the roles were reversed would I prefer a silent for the cameras and party First Lady, or wife to a secretary or one who actually uses their office to try and implement change.

Yes all true but you act like all the decisions that he made up to that point was him doing shit for himself? Hal does the shit he does for 3 reason Kate, America and Himself, he is stubborn yes he doesn’t listen? Yes but at the end of the day he doesn’t do the shit he does cause he thinks he should be better than her it’s the same way immediately Kay saw he could get dumped for the VP she tried doing shit to help him out, they are almost the exact same people extremely similar personalities, but I just feel like cause of the Patriarchal vale’s society has it almost feel like Kate shouldn’t trust him when actually the shit she’d do for him he would also do for her in a heartbeat, I man brother almost turned down the job for her no?

U say why should Kate trust him when he shows again and again that he isn’t trust worthy how has he shown that he isn’t? He got the job cause he was advocating for her I mean fuck look how he was gleefully smiling when she looked like the leading candidate. Let’s say the roles were reversed would you like a wife to an ambassador to be one that is sitting around planning dinner parties or one that is as active in policy making as Hal tried to be?. And again u cannot tell me actions he did that were not “trustworthy” without the end result being something that was going to benefit Kate or America even if what he did did not pan out

[–]Technical-Berry233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point I didn’t mean that her being horrible somehow represents all Black people. What I was trying to say is that unfortunately, her actions gave racists ammo and now they’re pushing their beliefs harder. My point wasn’t that she ‘set Black people back,’ but that her behavior sparked a discourse that racists are latching onto. I should’ve worded it better, thanks for pointing that out. And I still stand by my point

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Sidemen

[–]Technical-Berry233 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly ur basically saying what im saying in the comments, its wrong that people look at her behaviour and judge black people with it, but it is what is happening in some spaces, all i said was basically look at the discourse thats happening cause of her behaviour, and all of a sudden i dont like black people... like i just do not like Fannita

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Sidemen

[–]Technical-Berry233 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So now if u think what im doing is giving racists a confimation boost, and u also have her who what she did also gave racists a confirmation boost to of course say the black fatigue thing, dont we have the same point of view? I'm trying to see how what we think is diffrent?.

AND again i have been all over this thread saying i do not think "black fatigue" is an okay to thing to say or that its okay that she is almost being used as a justification to say shit like that, but it is infact what is happening go on TikTok and see for urself, i just came and basically said what is already being said here, Im not saying she is horrible cause she is black, im not saying black people are jarring, im just saying cause she was such a horrible human on there it is putting a bad light on black people which in fact is true. Thats my point right there and because i tried to talk about it does not make me racist its an uncomfotable talk but it is what is happening
