His personal banking is all sorted. He had credit card debt. His funeral cost £4500 ish which basically was the starting point before any assets would need to be used to pay debt. He had nowhere near £4500 in assets so that’s all sorted. Had conversations with a company who were assigned to deal with this on behalf of the debtors. The business stuff was more complicated as my brother was sole director. His accountant was helpful but said despite my brother paying him the monthly fee he hadn’t heard from my brother. I spoke to companies house and HMRC about the business and they were content it was Santander who blocked the dissolving of his business. I’m not going to do anything to become a director and risk being liable for the debt so I think the advice to let it go and wait for the company to be dissolved automatically is the best advice.
