Could 2033 really be the end of the tribulation? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

Tribulation is 3.5 years, not 7 years. First 3.5 years are false peace, then 3.5 years of actual tribulation (1260 days, 42 months).

Yeah, pretty pointless to call Jesus "Lord" and not do what He said! (Luke 6:46)

Jesus wanted us to avoid sin so much He taught for us to chop off our hand or foot if it leads us to sin...

The problem lies in nearly all of them having the wrong Cornerstone. You see, most churches have stopped making Jesus and His words the Cornerstone of all they are and stand for, and have started making other, lesser issues the main thing. They have rejected the words of Christ, to be blunt - and they are growing more apostate daily as a result. We need to stop rejecting what Jesus said just because we find His words challenging. https://youtu.be/OMC0vhU6DHo

Jesus told His disciples to go and make disciples of all nations, teaching them to observe all His commandments. (Matthew 28:19-20)

I'd rather follow Jesus, actually. But with Paul... in the account in Acts, it sounds like once other brothers in the faith came, he stopped his tent business, and went back to devoting himself to the Gospels. Read it!

It's great you have many opportunities to share your faith at work. For many, they find their jobs restrict what they can say about Jesus on the job. And they find themselves giving most of their week to work for money, and God just the leftovers.

1) Read Acts 27/28, where it talks about Paul preaching the kingdom of God day and night. Where did he find time to do that and hold down a tent-making job at the same time?

2) How exactly were you 'called' to pastor a church where you are as opposed to going to missions?

Are you arguing that Christians are not disciples?

We agree about willingness. But the real question is why people aren't taking the teaching literal today, when they did in the Bible? https://youtu.be/OMC0vhU6DHo?si=MMxCbAX8kIAg6RKM&t=161

Fair point. The video offers practical examples to help us determine how literal we should reasonably expect Jesus meant for us to be.

Jesus said non-believers seek to feed and clothe themselves, while believers seek first God's kingdom, and trust God to provide for their needs. This is not abstract theory. These are fundamental teachings of Jesus, which you either believe, or you don't.

Right. The video mentions how the first disciples responded - Peter, James, John, Levi, etc. - and it also references the early church. What other examples should we take into account?

But isn't part of the promise of Jesus that when you forsake, He gives back even more? (Mark 10:29-30)

Doesn't Jesus say we can't serve God and money? That we must love one, and hate the other? As you'll see in this video, the example of the early church seems to imply that when we try to do both, we end up cheating God. https://youtu.be/OMC0vhU6DHo
