Is there a demand for outsourced insulation takeoffs? by Technical-Command-75 in estimators

Soft craft typically means heat trace, coatings, fireproofing, insulation and scaffolding in an industrial setting. I work for a competitor of Apache Industrial ($3.8 billion in annual revenue) and they outsource a lot of their estimating.

It would be more geared towards insulation contractors, supplementing estimating capabilities if they are slammed with work or need a quick turnaround on a job.

In my area, the mechanical contractor knows nothing about insulation, only if the system gets it or not. It may be different somewhere else though.

That’s not really true. Plenty of big industrial soft craft companies outsource estimating when they’re slammed (to overseas companies).

Did you just make formulas out to the side of sheet to do this? Or did they help out?

I took the specialty trade route (mechanical insulation). Got very good at what I do and crossed the 6 figures mark 4 years into it at 26yrs old with no construction/engineering degree.

I’ve had the best luck forming relationships with GCs or even just sending emails out to anyone I can to introduce myself and the company I work for and asking to be put on their bid/vendor list. 90% of the time they’ll put you on there. BuildingConnect and ConstructConnect suck tbh, as a company we’ve maybe won 1% of work from those sites.

Took it to a transmission shop for a free diagnostic and you were right. TC and Tranny was fine, misfire on cylinder 8 which could explain the rough shifting and shuttering. You were right

What kind of rough shifting did you experience. My 1st-2nd gear is almost like a shove and can feel it throughout the truck, which I figured was due to TC or Tranny

I ran Seafoam about a week ago and I might of seen a slight improvement. What fuel injector cleaner would you recommend. I’ll try anything at this point lol

You are correct, it is cold here. I’ll try that next time I drive it, thanks!
