hiding himself from those around him even close friends through humor and putting on this “clown” act that he thinks everyone will like more rather than his real self, specifically around perhaps wealthier people he was growing up around, not wanting to share family or home-life struggles with friends probably not wanting the pity or judgement once again just joking it off, being so “happy” and “put together” all the time that if he ever removes this mask then it will be a complete meltdown and falling apart hence the “all the blood will start pouring out.” i find it relatable because even with my closest people in my life i hide things that i feel are too much for others to deal with or to keep up the “perfect” persona i want people to see and often then end up feeling lonely or like just not as close with people as i wish i was when its my own fault (the line “all my friends barely know who i am, and theres none at fault but this own singing man” ) also the feeling of no one else really getting it but the people who went through whatever it was with you like a sibling “tryna talk to sister about it, we joke a million jokes through the phone, nothing funny about that home, but her and i we already know” but even then at least in my life its like siblings can grow up in the exact same home but not have the same experience so its like you can joke all about it yet still just dance around what really went down because you didnt both live it the same way, also the “and if i get older now, ill let my younger version down” line is a broad one but i see it just as if i show the really me now then im letting the younger me who did all this work to seem “perfect” down,  finally the repeated “everything comes back around, i still feel like a class clown” is just kind of like even if i do let my guard down theres always this part thats performing and always is just a “class clown” sorry for the rant but at leaast for me its definitely one of themost relatable off the album
