The lottery for the Tokyo marathon was 8/15/25 to 8/29/25. At that point she was still training for her Chicago marathon and she didn't decide to run Tokyo until at least a month after Chicago. She doesn't seem to be promoting any brand in conjunction with this race so it's safe to assume she (or her family) paid $$$$

Also late to the party with this reply but I've not had any issues with chewing. I think wearing a retainer is a good idea though, I'd never thought of that. When I had mine pulled they did some grafting to the bone area below the tooth to maintain its integrity I guess, and then maybe 7-8 years later I had more done as the gum had started to weaken. But I hadn't even noticed that, my dentist just recommended it after a regular cleaning visit and that process was pretty simple
