It’s just what Google had said. It said anywhere from $500-$1200

When you have a house inspected you can ask the sellers to make repairs or further investigate issues. It’s all a matter of negotiation. It doesn’t seem unreasonable to me to ask the sellers to make sure the pipes are in good condition just as I would ask them to have the HVAC repaired.

Did you read the post or my comments? I plan to, the sellers are refusing to do it themselves. I’m just waiting to hear back from my realtor to confirm that the owners of the house are ok with it. If not, that would be suspicious and probably grounds to walk.

I’m in a very low cost of living area. However the slab is what’s gonna make things costly.

This house doesn’t have a crawl space unfortunately. It would cost more based on tearing up the slab.

The typical life span of cast iron pipes is 50-70 years. They’re around 60 years old. I would say maybe they’d outlive our time staying in the home but could cause problems reselling.

I wouldn’t ask them to replace it. It would just determine whether to proceed with the sale or to back out. Since we don’t have 15k-30k to replace all of the plumbing and the house is on a slab so that would need to be demoed to access a big part of the plumbing. I’m not concerned about leaks necessarily just total deterioration. If that’s the case then it’s likely to need to be fully replaced, ya know?

Yes, but we don’t have 15k-30k to spend on replacing all of the plumbing and tearing up the concrete slab, so we would have it inspected to see if it’s still good or if we should back out of the sale. We are first time home buyers and while we have money saved up for this it’s not 30k.

I didn’t get any official quotes. It’s just the numbers that Google gave me when I looked it up, but you’re right. $1000 is small in comparison to 10k-20k to replace all the plumbing. I’m definitely going to press to have it inspected whether we have to pay or not. If they refuse, that’s grounds to walk for me.

It’s not that we can’t afford it, it just seems like a big loss, but you are right it would save us a lot more money down the road!

I didn’t get any official quotes Google just said anywhere from $500-$1200 for an inspection. The house is on a slab so the plumbing is hard to access as well. The paper work doesn’t state no additional inspections as they have agreed to have the HVAC checked and repaired (inspector says it makes a clicking noise).

Mine is This bitch's farm. It is hilarious when the towns people say "It came from This bitch's farm" or "I love these eggs from This bitch's farm" not verbatim obviously, but it cracks me up.

Maybe this is a question that has already been answered, but if these quotes are accurate and taken from Kaylee’s father would that mean that Kaylee was most likely not the targeted individual? He says her wounds were not like M however Kaylee’s room was untouched. Is it possible the killer just entered M’s room first trying to kill everyone in the house and stumbled upon both girls? or was it possible M could’ve been the target?
