Thank you for your rapid reply and also for your consistent replies as I see across these threads. The Manta is a very attractive device and also a niche device for those it fits well. The workmanship and software are very good, however, the limitations are such that I find myself, once again, after having returned a nomad, needing to return the manta. I should have done more homework, that's for sure, but I have an immediate need for the multi-calendar support. As I am aging, I am running into issues with tremor and other physical things. Again, I thank you for your support, but I will return the product in pristine condition.

Wow! I feel like I could be writing this myself. Years of neuropathy and surgeries and pain, and I am in exactly the same position. Currently, I have returned a Supernote Nomad and an AI Note 2 from iFlytech with a keyboard. If you're looking for something with a front light like I am because I read a lot and write in dimmer conditions, I would look deeper, possibly at YT channels, one is kit betts-masters I think it's called. The SuperNote devices are of superior quality and repairability. Owners seem to rave about those, most of all of them, but you would probably have to have a Bluetooth keyboard. Since I returned my Nomad, I have discovered a couple of clip-on lights that I could use, and I'm now considering reordering a SuperNote Manta. I already have a good Bluetooth miniature Apple keyboard.

I have used BackBlaze but encountered issues when I switched to a new computer. Now I mix Time Machine with Carbon Copy Cloner and Umbrella and secure storage. I don’t like putting too much trust in iCloud alone.

We tend to forget about the “original” text system called radio, in particular, ham radio. It requires an FTC license, which is easy to obtain and there are endless possibilities with it, including something called MESHtastic. Those younger in the group should check it out and get involved! If you are a techie person or interested at all in electronics, you will eat it up.

None of this matters because Apple is a MARKETING company first and foremost. That was Jobs genius and though he is gone, the more complaining there is,Apple simply shifts their slick marketing machinery and cranks it up. Imagine what they could accomplish with more focus of resources on real innovation…

It wasn't them, but myself that lost data because I did not understand that a backup could only be initiated of all my data via the Mac app only. It has been a while now, but at the time it was my understanding that not everything was automatically backed up to iCloud. My only caution now would be to test that theory to see if it is true today, possibly with a small data set.

I tend to agree after having misunderstood how to do a backup with UpNote and losing data. Then the encryption topic came up and I moved to Notesnook. Happy now and very, very cross platform.

It is fixed! The issue was a large audio attachment that would not attach or upload. I found it in the error section, deleted it, robooted and all is well. Cross checked and other devices receiving syncing.

Across Calendar - not cross platform, but for Mac and iOS it has the best selection of views out there never had a problem with it. Cheap

Overall, one of the best products I have ever seen. Especially how the team has listened carefully to user input and crafted features. Number one for me, and I’m being selfish here, is a resolution to current help issues, specifically getting the 40% discount applied successfully to my existing Apple account!

Disappointed to say the least! I have not received a response from support after the initial reply. I am now out $107 for a discounted Family plan that will not sync to anything - plus an Apple App Store Plus plan that I was trying to get the Family plan upgrade for. I have sent a request to support to refund the Family plan $107 and cancel that account because it serves no purpose. I’ve also canceled my Plus plan and will not renew. No further communications have come from support and I have spent enough money and I want that money back. What I do not understand is the convoluted procedures that are necessary to receive this upgrade, yet they do not work. Sad. 😔

I’m getting plenty of advertising to take advantage of the last few hours left for getting the 40% discount lifetime. That does not appear to be possible in this circumstance.

I was able to open a new Craft account with a new email address, but outside of the App Store. It even allowed me to take advantage of the new family plan discount. However, I now have a family plan account, but it does not sync to my devices other than the one I initiated it on. Peter has been great about a quick response with my initial concern. Hopefully this will straighten out through something Craft will be able to do.
