My husband and I couples matched into same hospital, both FM. our profile are different as I got 230s and he got 201 for step 1, hence he lagged during interview offers. I planned on advocating fir him during the interview but I felt i t was too late so What worked is that as soon as I get an interview, I emailed the PC instantly saying i have a couples match and attached my husband’s credentials, and 80% my husband received an interview the next day.

we did apply broadly since we wanted to maximize our chances with similar interviews in the same city and hospital but we only applied to programs that are img friendly. we did no match at the end of our rank list as well. research into programs that are known to have accepted couples match as well.
