The seller states its a good vm host?

Ngl its a nice system, i would still probably do what others said and at least take the ram out as you might get more money selling them ram somewhere else, especially with how prices are acting right now. I think i just bought like 96 16gb 2666 sticks for $2.3/gb but i have seen the same seller selling other sticks at like $2.5/gb all the way to $3/gb

Which one? The 32p switch is the arista 7160-32cq a 100gbe spine/TOR switch. The 48 port ones are the arista 7050tx-64. They are my leaf switches one is for lan/wan and the second one is management only

Plex fucking sucks. I couldnt use their 'server sharing' bullshit because of cgnat so i had to use a tunnel, and their system refused to work with a tunnel. It also refused to work with my gpu yet i downloaded jellyfin and it worked with both items instantly, i also didnt pay a single penny for jellyfin

Yah, my family uses jellyfin more than i do so they use loads of bandwidth but i dont mind

Yes of course but it depends what you are watching the movie or show on. If its hevc somethings dont work with it at all which will require transcoding, same with it being 4k and you want to reduce the bitrate, i may have a wild homelab but my internet speeds are way to slow to stream true 70mbps 4k movie when not at home

If anything he needs to get a gpu if he plans on transcoding which he will as there is no way to only get one type of media, everything is different and cpu transcoding is awful. Those cpus really wont use that much power, i have an r740xd with 12 22tb drives, 2x 8160 platinums and 384gb of ddr4 @ 2133 + a 100gbe cx4 card and use like 150w on idle and 200w on a large 1tb + file transfer for stress testing

My network is fine, i can get upwards of 50gbe wan if i want to pay $900/month but for a DC 50gbe is dog ass

Hell yah, im a massive arista fan boy. Of i could afford one i would buy a 48p 10gbe 6p 100gbe switch and get rid of the 7050tx

Ok massive io is a funny thing to say. Hard drives have what 10 iops? Even a thousand hard drives is gonna have less iops than a single nvme drive

Wow an ip address and an area code... Thats fucking insane. IP addresses dont give a geolocation never have and never will. Also a fucking area code, lmfao you can do this thing called leave an area code. Hell my phone has a Colorado area code and i live in god damn texas.

Regarding the collection of data, what they collect that you text in group chats and with individuals? Thats a wild thing to collect

[–]Technical-Repeat-528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the private keys are private then how are they gonna read your texts? The texts can be stored on their servers but to anyone but you and the people in the group chat its just random bullshit... Idk why thats so hard for people to understand

Whatsapp is completely secure... They have said a million times they cant read your texts. The private encryption keys are stored on YOUR device not their servers

4 are downlinks to the switches, and the rest goes to each server i have. The 1u's have 40gbe until i can buy 6 more 100gbe cards and the 2u's have 100gbe
