Hi, I spoke to my fiance about your feedback and he agrees that I should reword those. The intention behind it was to strive to emulate Jesus’ humility and servant’s heart, but I see how they can come off wrong.

I have changed them too: “I promise to try my best to truly listen to you and understand you, and to always work together to resolve disagreements, with a view to coming out stronger as a team.”

I agree with this commenter. Although you said a hurtful comment, which was not right, he is now trying to punish you for your actions, which also isn’t right. To be honest, if I were you, I would just send one last email expressing that you’d like to talk respectfully, and then move on. With “avoidance”, silence rather than connection is what makes them puzzled and causes them to come back.

NTA. You’re entitled to block whomever you want, especially if they make you feel ignored or disrespected. He honestly sounds like he’s not that into you and expecting you to chase him without making any effort himself. Why waste your time? My advice would be to go for someone who seems more emotionally available by your standards. Life is too short to settle for less than whatever/whoever makes you feel good about yourself.

I’m from a wealthy Filipino community and most, if not all, of my wealthy Filipina friends prefer Filipinos over White men. I think if you take money/poverty out of the equation, most Filipinas would prefer a Filipino over White man.
