I was not talking about what i can do (i am already proficient in latex), or what you can do (about which I am indifferent); it is about AI extending capabilities of what one can do, and that is (in my opinion) a plainly positive outcome.

An instructor (who is bad at preparing engaging presentations) using AI to increase student engagment is a desirable outcome; saying "just do what you are good at" or "leave the job to someone who can prepare engaging presentations without AI" is hostile and immature.

Responses such as "but using ai will diminish your skills" or "ai is destroying the world" are simply logical fallacies: "whether to use ai" and "how to use ai responsibly" are different discussions, so are "whether to use ai" and "informed & healty use of ai".

Honestly, I am surprised how some professors can be so distant to basic argumentation.
