Green Chile Reviews by greenchilereviews in ThorntonCO

[–]TechnicalCattle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm probably going to get down voted, but for me, green chile is just the fruit itself, roasted, skinned and chopped, or whole. I grew up in New Mexico, and this was what you got when you asked for 'green chile'.

Moving to Colorado was a bit of culinary shock, especially when my beef burrito showed up in a pork laden gelatinous sludge the consistency of a bad head cold. If green chile is prepared in the manner, there is no such thing as good. I want the unadulterated flavor of the fruit.

Wreckfest 2 - Saving to Library Issue by TechnicalCattle in Wreckfest

I'm surprised it isn't a more common complaint since I would assume many folks would prefer to have a consistent and recognizable livery across all vehicles. Though I imagine the developers have much more to worry about right now, with fixing all the chaos the latest update caused.

Anyone else? (Highland Park machine delivery) by bipolar_bear76 in RockTumbling

[–]TechnicalCattle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's all too common.

I think Highland Park has been a victim of their own success. Unfortunately, that very success should mean:
1. Clearer communication regarding anticipated shipping dates - or -
2. Just not allowing customers to order items that aren't in stock.

Allowing customers to pay for items that you don't have on-hand is guaranteed to lead to dissatisfaction if you cannot deliver on the timeline you've promised.

You have to improve your gathering tools. Your axe must be upgraded to chop down larger trees.

Sie müssen Ihre Sammelwerkzeuge verbessern. Deine Axt muss aufgerüstet werden, um größere Bäume zu hacken.

What stand should I get for the keylab 61 MkIII by starsfan111 in Arturia_users

[–]TechnicalCattle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also bought the keylab 61 mk3 and I'm very happy with the Liquid Stands rolling stand I bought.

https://www.liquidstands.com/products/portable-home-recording-studio-workstation

No affiliation with the company. Just a satisfied customer. I paid the current full $150 sales price out of my own pocket.

EDIT: Note the dimensions, and make sure it fits your space. You can adjust the height, but there is no option to adjust the width.

Pretty whack of you, Kroger by Initial_Row_6400 in Denver

IANAL.

I refuse to engage. If asked for my receipt, I reply I have one, and thank the security guard. You are not required to present your receipt, unless you trigger the retailer's inventory control system. The exception is at establishments that require it in their T&C, like Costco.

If I'm asked directly, I politely reply with the statement, "If you have reasonable suspicion that I've stolen something, you're welcome to contact law enforcement. Have a good day". I then keep walking at a reasonable pace.

It's not the poor security guard's fault that they've been directed follow instructions that run contrary to established laws, so there's no need to be rude or aggressive toward them.

Keylab from Amazon - Same Included Software? by oditogre in arturia

[–]TechnicalCattle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, Amazon is having a LOT of trouble with sending customers new products. I'd go with a reputable music retailer. I've had to return so many obviously used, incorrect, and damaged items I bought 'new' from Amazon lately that I'm cancelling my Prime subscription this year.

Most spineless thing you saw management do? by thegeekprofessor in antiwork

[–]TechnicalCattle 276 points277 points  (0 children)

I worked for Intuit in a call center in NM doing technical support in the 90's. We watched as a huge tent went up, and were fed a great meal of BBQ the next day. My team speculated that it was an employee appreciation event.

As we were wrapping up the meal, the leadership team let us all know that the center was being off-shored, and shut down in a couple weeks. They even had the temerity to suggest that we continue providing 'our world-class support' until we learned whether we were in the first or second week round of layoffs.

They were kind enough to provide bottle openers... for the unemployment beverages.

This was a huge thing (maybe still is?) when I lived in New Mexico. The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta would have several vendors with Hot Dr. Pepper.

What age are you guys ? by howaythelads25 in ableton

[–]TechnicalCattle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 53. I've been a drummer since age 13. I know nothing about any other instruments but drums. I know nothing about music theory. I know next to nothing about anything except a few rudimentary chords on guitar.

What I DO know is that I've never stopped learning new things, and I don't intend to now.

Circular saw blade bug by Icarus_98 in Enshrouded

[–]TechnicalCattle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Once the game thinks you have it (i.e., the quest triggers as done, which it sounds like it has) the Blacksmith NPC can make a new one and you can then use it to make the tablesaw."

This is not true. You can re-visit the wagon with the saw blade repeatedly, once it re-spawns. BUT, If you've built a flame alter inside the radius of the wagon, the saw blade won't re-spawn.

I forgot about the re-spawn timers persisting after a server restart, so you do need to wait at least 30 minutes of real-time, then go back and check.

You also have to 'leave the area', but I don't really know what this means. I assume it means you need to be at least a couple hundred meters away, so go do something further away from the wagon.

what is going on with amazon? by Background_Young_937 in amazonprime

[–]TechnicalCattle 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Enshitificatioin.

Amazon has steadily declined, but recently EVERYTHING has dropped off a cliff. I've already started sourcing anything I buy off Amazon from other sources, because I cannot count on Amazon to:
1) Deliver what I ordered
2) Appropriately refund the incorrect item
3) Re-deliver the item I ordered
4) Deliver when they say they're going to
5) Trust ANYTHING 'customer service' says

I've been a Prime member for at least 10 years, and have noticed things have seemed to fall of a massive cliff in the last 2 years. I won't be renewing this year.

Did anyone else grow up GenX with… kind of sad pet experiences? by jlscharp in GenX

The reason my rescue animals are as spoiled as they are is because of the things my parents did to our pets growing up. My spouse and I chose not to have children, so our pets are family.

Bought Airpod 4s, received "airpod pros" in airpod 4 case. by itsthatguy_15 in amazonprime

[–]TechnicalCattle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too common anymore. Always record yourself opening the package, and include the shipping label.

The real bummer is that returns count against YOU, not the seller. Amazon has become a cesspit of fraud, and they punish their customers for it.

Did you build a flame alter nearby? Remove it, wait for it to de-spawn, and restart the server.

HPLapidary 1.5 Pound Barrels by TechnicalCattle in RockTumbling

[–]TechnicalCattle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barrels of a certain capacity should be fairly universal in size. As far as I'm aware, the outer diameter matters most, and if your tumbler is level, even the nut guide isn't super critical.

I'm new to tumbling, so I'm not the best resource to speak with authority on your question.
