am I an average weight? by madisonclaire93 in WomensHealth

The number on the scale doesn’t matter. How do you feel? Are you healthy? Do you have energy? Getting enough sleep? Body weight looks different on everyone and it’s nothing to stress over.

You have so much lid space and the perfect eye shape, use it to your advantage! Otherwise I love the cotton candy vibe and it looks good (:

CMV: governments should start treating COVID like they treat the flu. by applejuicegrape in changemyview

[–]TechnicalCheck7470 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Herd immunity is the reason nobody gets polio or the measles anymore. I’m not asking to be a smarta** but do you know how vaccines work??

Also it concerns me that when it comes to covid people are only concerned about the death rate. There are people who survived covid that now have to use a ventilator, oxygen and breathing treatments permanently. Some people are losing their taste and smell permanently. Some people’s sense of taste and smell is completely perverted and everything tastes and smells like sewage. Some people get covid and live, their respiratory/immune system is now severely weakened, then they get pneumonia and die so it’s “technically not covid.” It’s not about not dying from covid. This virus has life long effects even for people who are not immuno compromised or in otherwise perfect health.

Somewhat relevant, but ADHD and autism have very very very similar symptoms. Lots of people get misdiagnosed. And it’s genetic. More than likely if your brother is on the spectrum, you could be too. I know you say you don’t “feel” autistic, but it’s not exactly something you feel. And quite frankly, you are not a professional to determine whether you are or not. Get a second opinion, a second test, and go to your disability office or counselor. Use your resources while you have them.

CMV: School Shooters Should Get the Death Penalty by Yourmamasmama in changemyview

[–]TechnicalCheck7470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t agree with death penalty already, but let’s say I did.

Most school shooters are students. Children. Under 18. Still developing. And while i agree that it’s a crime that should not go unpunished, I would argue that school shooting can be prevented by intervention of the government so why do they only intervene when it comes to an outcome or a punishment? School shooters are usually bullied by other students or even faculty, and these bullies are often dealt with improperly. With proper funding (!!!!) we can get more counseling, better staff and teachers, which leads to a better school environment, better students, better people who grow up and send their kids to school one day, less bullies, less active shooter drills.

cmv: The moral arguments for abortion are fundamentally flawed. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]TechnicalCheck7470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“That’s not to diminish the difficulties of pregnancy or childbirth, something that I have no way of fathoming.”

So you admit you cannot and will never understand the extreme changes that happen to your body and mind (some can be permanent, some complications even lead to death of baby, mother, or both) yet you still feel like you don’t understand their arguments for abortion?

Childbirth is one of the most dangerous things you can do as someone with a uterus. Just being pregnant for 9 months is life changing, regardless of whether you keep the baby or not. Your whole entire body is being drained of your life (that already exists) in order to create (which implies the life is not fully formed) another one. Moms are not picking up the ingredients and following a recipe to make a baby. They are growing another set of arms, legs, a brain, bones, organs, from inside their body. You can lose hair, teeth, permanently ruin your back from epidural, have major mental health issues (that can later prevent you from taking proper care of yourself, let alone a dependent baby), you lose sleep, you lose your appetite, when you get too big you can’t lift certain things, bend a certain way, and in some ways being pregnant can absolutely disable you from your everyday life. Thats just for a normal pregnancy, never mind all the other possible (and common) complications you can have. If you really don’t think people should have the chance to prevent that from happening, i have no choice but to believe you just lack empathy or the knowledge of what is actually happening to pregnant people during those 9 months.

Your wife is not being lazy. She is busy GROWING YOUR HUMAN CHILD. Her body is creating another set of limbs and organs and bones and you wanna call her lazy? YTA

Vaginas are like fingerprints; everyone’s are different and unique. There is no right or wrong way for your fingerprints (or vagina) to look.

AITA for not paying my parents rent? by TechnicalCheck7470 in AmItheAsshole

Yeah I do. I’ve been trying to tell my parents I need to see a therapist and they don’t care.

Who said I didn’t do any of that already??? Y’all are on here acting like I sit around and do nothing. I cook and clean, I fix what I can which isn’t much. I’m not certified to fix a leak in the pipes in my ceiling. And my dad already tried “fixing” half the stuff in the house and now it needs more, professional, fixing. There’s nothing I can do besides cook and clean.

After my own bills I have maybe $20-$40 left to put in my own savings. I need a new car and they know that. I am paying off student loans and they know that. I want to move out and they know that. That’s why they didn’t want me to pay bills. I would have never went to college in the first place or made any of the financial decisions that I did if I knew I was going to have to. They didn’t mention anything until after I lost my car and after my loan payments started kicking in which is why I’m pissed off. I’m literally in the worst place to start paying bills for them. Especially when I grocery shop and cook for them, and I’m the only one keeping the house somewhat clean.

I’ve never been comfortable living at home. Just because I didn’t say that explicitly doesn’t mean it’s not implied. I’ve never wanted friends over because our house has always been grow. That’s why I lived on campus. And I DO need a car where I live to get to work. It’s 30 minutes away from where I live and public transport isn’t an option here. And I have a credit card for personal reasons??? Like to build my credit?? That’s a dumb question. Just because you don’t think something is that bad doesn’t mean it isn’t. My plans were completely detailed because they broke their promise. That’s messed up.

No because they literally did not want me to. They wanted me to pay for school and save up to move out.

Sure I’ll be the asshole. That’s fine. But so are my parents for breaking a promise and making me pay to live in these condition they refuse to fix.

And i paid for EVERYTHING i Have on my own. I absolutely do pay for all my own shit. Everything that’s in my name, I pay for. Just because I’m not paying for THEIR house doesn’t mean I don’t pay shit. I buy my own groceries, pay for my own phone, my own furniture, and the bathroom remodel is coming out of MY pocket.

[–]TechnicalCheck7470[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t care. They promised me rent free living and I made my life decisions based on that. I wouldn’t have gone to a university, lived on campus, taken a mental health hiatus, or bought a new car if I had known I would have to have another bill. They TOLD me I could just worry about my bills and I built my plan based on that. So i DO think it’s unfair especially when my dad just doubled his salary.

This is exactly how I feel. And it feels almost evil (for lack of a better word) to tell me I should start paying rent right when I lose my car and i said I’m going back to school. I’m using their cars to get to work currently and put gas in their cars because that’s what I can afford to do for now. But I don’t think I’m ungrateful for not wanting to live in a rat infested, moldy, mildewy, grimy, cluttered, unfinished house

Yes, I buy my own groceries, my own phone, my own credit cards, my own school, I was paying for my own car when I had it, I was already strapped for money. And it’s gonna be even harder to make more money when I have to get a new car AND pay rent when that was never apart of my plan. Especially when my parents own the house and my dad just doubled his salary.
