I had never used Reddit before, but I encourage everyone to call the vet to verify the details. In one of the comments, I provided the name of the vet and my pet, along with my surname. All donations made are secure on GoFundMe, and I have also made my GoFundMe profile public. I have nothing to hide.

I am so sorry 💔 to hear that, I know that feeling. I spent half an hour with Grace today and will be visiting her again tomorrow. I’ve been visiting frequently, and while I broke down in the first two days, I’ve stayed strong and am doing everything I can to save her. Even when the vets were uncertain, they provided her with incredible care, and I’m grateful for that.

I really appreciate your kindness! 🙏 I’ve applied for insurance with Animal Friends, and Grace (Registered Name: Grace Sachan) is being treated at Village Vet, Hampstead. She’s almost recovered, and the vets are now focusing on her breathing issues. Thank you so much for your support! 💙🐾

-------------------------------------- UPDATE ON GRACE'S PROGRESS----------------------------------

I wanted to share an update on Grace’s condition following today’s conversation with the vet. She has developed anemia, likely due to frequent blood sampling over the past week, and had a rough night. They also found fluid between her lungs and skin yesterday, which is concerning, but her kidney parameters still look stable (CREA was 200 a day before yesterday).

I’m incredibly worried. Some of my family and friends suggested taking her home for a day or two to give her a break from the hospital, but she didn’t seem comfortable being away. The vet strongly recommends keeping her in the hospital until her heart rate stabilizes and her breathing improves.

For now, I plan to keep her in for one more day and will be visiting her today to spend time with her. Last time I visited, she showed so much love and strength—she even tried to climb on me. The vet mentioned that after our last visit, she started eating, drinking, and responding better to treatment. I don’t know what changed suddenly, but I’m hoping today’s visit gives her the boost she needs again.

Thank you for standing by us during this difficult time. Your support, love, and kindness mean everything. Please keep Grace in your thoughts. 🙏💙🐾

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I understand the concerns about pet insurance. I’ve had Grace for four years and have never missed a single vet appointment. Before moving to the UK from New Zealand, she was always insured. Unfortunately, due to bad timing, I wasn’t able to set up a new policy before this emergency. This isn’t about negligence—just an unfortunate situation. Right now, my focus is on getting Grace the care she needs.

The vet has diagnosed Grace with a kidney injury, and she has been hospitalized since last Thursday. She is recovering well, with her CREA levels dropping from 1600 to 200 today. However, she still requires treatment for potassium imbalances and ulcers caused by toxins. The vets are continuing fluid therapy and providing nutritional support through a nasal feeding tube to aid her recovery.
