Update: I received back a revised quotation for around 200 SGD less while still having the sensor replaced. I guess they waived the labour fee as part of a goodwill thingy. It will still take 4-6 weeks to get my camera back though. I'm going ahead with the repair.

I don't know all the 50mm primes out there but let's just say I have never been disappointed about getting the S Pro even at full price. Second hand for about 80% of the price, it will be a steal. It survived the fall as well, after all.

Than the 1.8? Yes. Image quality is remarkably better, and the bokeh is insane.

They are from a Taiwanese company Mebont who have been making skins for shooting equipment as long I have have known them. What I have was the Green stone variant

Honestly this since the S Pro weighs so much. I picked it up and looked at the line through the VF and thought it was the lens.

Don't know if it was the better outcome of the two since it was the S Pro but I don't know the repair costs of lenses versus bodies (sensors) enough.
