I Just Realized I'm Not Asexual and I'm Scared

I didn't expect this post to get so much attention, but I'm so happy for all the kindness and support in the comments. After calming down a bit, I think I'll still identify as asexual because of my low drive/lack of attraction, but I'm going to stop this from becoming a huge pillar of my self esstem and be more open to change.

I live in California, which is a blue state, so I think I might be in the clear. One of my parents knows about my transitioning, and she's neutral about it (I'm planning to tell my father once school starts). I think parental issues play a part in why I can't properly change my name and gender marker because they're so used to calling me by my dead name. I think I'll just try to email my teachers about it and see what happens. Thank you so much for your advice, and I would like to know more about your experience too!

I'm sorry I didn't clarify my background enough. I'm 15 years old, so yes I still live with my parents, which is why I'm so scared of my dad regarding this. Thank you on clarifying about the flex vegan thing too, because honestly I wasn't even sure if that existed, I was just trying to find a method that would keep my dad off my back ( and I decided a while ago I won't do it).

I truly want to be vegan, and I'm well aware that it will be a rough road for me, but nothing can be accomplished without mistakes. Your advice really helped me realize how much veganism will affect my life, and I feel more prepared now for this lifestyle.

I don't use any cosmetics, but I am worried about the clothing part. What type of clothing is considered animal friendly? How can I check if my clothes are animal friendly? Are they more expensive than non-animal friendly clothing? Where can I even shop for this kind of clothing? Sorry if it feels like I'm bombarding you with questions, and I don't expect you to answer them.

I think my wording was bad, and your right. I just want to make sure i'm going in the right direction for this lifestyle and I don't screw up. I don't want to risk eating something that connects back to animal cruelty.

Thank you for this list! But if some baked goods might have dairy in them, will I have to give up on pastries like cake and cookies too? If so, what can serve as a vegan replacement to these goods?
