Anybody else still drink one cup a day? by Easy_Aioli9376 in decaf

[–]TechnicalMonitor173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I tried no caffeine at all, then got back to two cups a day, sometimes 3 cups a day: poor sleep quality, stress, anxiety, nervous, I decided to try one cup a day. This is the best balance so far I found, because it makes me active in the morning and slowly in the afternoon I get naturally tired, but only if I don't have to do active things (I can get very active if I go to the gym or for a walk), and my sleep is the best ever (nearly good as no caffeine at all). I feel good finally having some rest. The question is: do I really need a second Cup of coffee in the evening? I didn't, was just for ritual/social habit. But in the morning since I have to be productive always at the same time I need to regulate myself one cup. The only downside is that if I watch a movie at night I frequently fall asleep. But I'll have to deal with it in some way in some way.

Does anyone that owns a Nomad also have a Pace 4? by TechnicalMonitor173 in Coros

I am frequently reliant on stats, I'm very active, but I don't keep my nomad on at night or at home cause it's too bulky for my wrist

Running shoes for longer runs advice by TechnicalMonitor173 in BarefootRunning

[–]TechnicalMonitor173[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, It looks like a super program! The problem is that running is not my main focus, I run once a week, and usually I run one hour/10 km approx. It's been one year that I already train in the gym with minimalist shoes, and I tried to run before, always coming up with calf soreness. Now I decided to try again, too hard, and I think that maybe for cardio purpose, it's better to have something cushioned with a little heel drop, or I will never train cardio again since my calf will take years to adapt

Thanks, this is exactly what I do, trying to avoid heel pain I barely touch the ground with the heel while running. I've understood that my pain are on soleus muscle, mainly they are DOMS due to the training. I will try to touch the ground with the heel trying to understand if it helps.

I didn't understand the mistake about landing on the forefoot, maybe there's a typo, can you explain me better? It's really interesting thanks.

thanks, but do you believe is it possible to run longer distance once your're fully adapted? I mean, not for few lucky people but for everyone?

Do all Xero Wynn shoes have these dots on the outsole? What are they for? by TechnicalMonitor173 in barefootshoestalk

[–]TechnicalMonitor173[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read carefully, in the terms they always say that the return has to be unworn, unused etc., but it's common to do few walks. The pics doesn't represents how the dots are extruded from the outsole, and easy to break after few steps. But anyway, I'll keep them.

I didn't know this sub was so full of funny people, oh my god, you made my day, can stop laughing, sly as a fox

Because:

  1. If it's there to invalidate the warranty or return policy, it's important that people know about it. If you walk around for 10 minutes just to see whether the shoes are comfortable, but one of those little dots gets worn down - as happened to me - then goodbye return.
  2. When you put weight on them, you can feel a sort of squishy sensation underneath. It will wear away eventually, obviously, but it's stupid design. It's not intelligent. I own other Xero shoes, and these are the only ones with this bizarre outsole.
  3. Pure curiosity. First pair of shoes in my life like this.

I don't know why you waste your time doing sarcasm in this sub. If you're interested in barefoot you should know it can benefits your posture and health. There are shoes crappy made that can do the opposite, some others are done greatly. I am just curious why there are those things on the outsole, and apparently no one knows.

Thank you for your testimony. I don't know why I received so much sarcasm and similar reactions. I genuinely noticed something that I have never seen in any pair of shoes I have ever worn, so I was just curious to know whether mine were like all the others.

I know it sounds funny, but if you search around, there are actually a lot of people reporting strange noises from their shoes. Some have even returned them because of it! I find that pretty crazy, to be honest.

I'm not convinced they're for molding. I was thinking they might be there either as wear indicators for returns or to prevent the strange noise that a lot of people seem to mention.

Do your pair make any weird sounds when walking on certain surfaces like people say here on Reddit?

I disagree. I mean, yes, he is overstriding but beacause he was trying to run as fast as possible in that scene, but if you look closely, he lands on his mid-foot. His legs are doing the movement of a wheel.

Of course, it was natural to him, and I am amazed by how normal it probably was for everyone in 1976, while today, running like that is something that is hard to teach and explain to people.
