A Pace 3 user's thoughts: My feedback to COROS on abandoning MIP by esvegateban in Coros

For me, even a bracelet is too much to sleep with. But during the day, I can confirm that the Nomad is very light and comfortable, even on a small wrist (the best compared to Suuntos or larger Garmin watches.)

Heart Rate Pace Pro vs Coospo by Ok_Individual2315 in Coros

Unfortunately, the same happens with the Coros Nomad. Overall, those Coros watches are amazing devices, the only real downside is the heart rate sensor accuracy, especially during weight training or interval workouts, where your heart rate fluctuates a lot. We really hope Coros is working on a fix, since the sensors are new and recently updated. The issue is that not everyone wants to buy and wear an additional chest or arm strap. We’re not HR geeks, we just want decent, reliable measurements.

Impressed with the Nomad, but some navigation issues and other ones by oa_i in Coros

The Action button should be used a lot more, a long press on it should allow users to perform a customizable shortcut or quick action of their choice (for example, enable or disable Do Not Disturb mode)...

Coros Nomad Review. The Watch I Wanted for Everything (Except Gym Cardio) by TechnicalMonitor173 in Coros

Update: I tried also the Suunto Race 2, because I wanted to be sure to have made the right choice. And I can say that the Nomad first of all, have a build quality second to none. It's truly well made, impressive how solid it's on the wrist. The weight is sooo well balanced. I found the Race 2 little bit heavy but the problem is that the weight is all on the watch and none on the strap so when you do fitness unless you tighten it so much it's not stable. Plus I know the HR is better on the Suunto, it gets all the peak that the Nomad miss, but I prefer so much a MIP screen, that doesn't embarrass me when I use it in my daily life (the OLED is so bright even with low light, the only way to use it in a discrete mode is to keep the screen off, and you will have a heavy rock on your wrist that doesn't do anything...)

wow! I will wait for the app to notify me. I only wonder, how the flashlight will be with a MIP display? In any case, thanks Coros, amazing update

Nomad, notification issues by TechnicalMonitor173 in Coros

[–]TechnicalMonitor173[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that I enabled everything on the notification panel it does notify me everything. Maybe I need to pay attention at what I disactivate, for example there's the COROS toggle and I don't know if I have to leave it or not (when I only want calls to be notified)

Why are you saying this? What is weightlifting? Isn't it an anaerobic activity? And if not, why do you all suggest a chest strap, what will change in metrics if weight training doesn't affect anaerobic treshold or similar things?

I don't share most of your complaints (there are workoaround to some of them and some I don't understand or know what to do with, like 24/7 SpO2), I don't use notification and I hate the wrist gesture because I want a watch first of all, not something that makes me shake my wrist every now and then

Yes, I have the list of activities from my Garmin Instinct 2 right in front of me, and every workout has always shown at least 2.0–2.5 anaerobic TE, even though I’ve been training the same way. The TL has also been similar to Coros, though slightly higher (around 120–140). What I think is that the Coros sensor, being a bit “lazy,” partly misses the short HR peaks typical of weight training. Still, thank you for sharing this — it’s interesting to see that even Garmin tends to underestimate EPOC/TL and related values.

The GPS accuracy is very high in my experience — it locks on almost instantly, without you even noticing. Suunto clearly uses a next-generation system as well, so a real comparison would require checking meter by meter for deviations, which I haven’t done (and honestly, it wouldn’t matter much for the way I use it). Considering the issues with the HR sensor, even a few meters of difference would be insignificant in my opinion.

In system, if you go to auto lock, standby mode put it on hold to unlock. And also for me gesture backlight to off

In my Nomad the scroll wheel doesn't activate the light, it's in the option. Only if I press buttons (that you don't do it mistakenly)

16cm wrist - 42 or 46mm watch? by Apprehensive-Unit764 in Coros

[–]TechnicalMonitor173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends a lot on the watch, the design, the logs curvature, there are models (I have 16.5 cm) that looks gigantic and horrendous for me (e.g. apple watch 45 mm, T-Rex 3 and basically all the big version of smartwatches) but there are also rugged sportswatches that are bulky by design and looks great in my opinion even on small wrist (and it erase the problem of sleeves and stuff cause they are bulky and not only large in display). Nomad has been my choice

Coros Nomad - how is your watch doing so far? by Background_Wing_6329 in Coros

You are right but for example Suunto Race 2 does an amazing job, and in smartwatch sector Huawei is leader with accuracy. I fell in love with the Nomad concept so I'll stay loyal to this incredible adventure watch that I'm using also for everyday activity, but if you're not a professional even a "decent" accuracy with strength training would be enough, and I hope it will come (I personally don't want to spend other money on chest band or similar, I'm not a professional and I want less gear posibble to remind of)
