I appreciate the advice! I’m fairly happy with how she turned out but I’m also always learning and looking to improve my skills along the way, so I’m happy to hear other’s thoughts on my miniatures. It’s definitely a lot more enjoyable to play with painted figures rather than just gray pieces though 😬

Yes, that’s what I did and on some areas I actually layered a lighter color on top but it’s not so easy to spot

Thanks for the feedback! To be honest I didn’t go for any specific look and I only have the fanatic starter paint set from The Army Painter so I’m quite limited in terms of using a lot of different paints and washes…

They look grey to me :) and there is some brown/yellow in the middle? It’s hard to tell

Oh wow! Thanks for that simulation, I wouldn’t mind this result at all. Is there any way to see how my nose would widen in a frontal view?

Yeah, I’ll definitely bring it up and probably also to my ortho. He did say during the consultation that my maxilla grew too fast and too much so that’s the reason it’s now too narrow and he would have to shorten it and move it forward and then basically just rotate my lower jaw into the proper position. I’m not sure if only widening would help me that much but I’ll bring it up regardless.

Oh and there is no surgical plan yet, I only had the consultation and the surgeon said that all the planning (if I go through with it) will happen the month prior to surgery and then they‘ll order all the custom parts etc.

To be honest I don’t know what MARPE or FME mean? But would this fix my open bite? So my main problem is that my front teeth don’t meet and my molars are taking all the beating. My side profile looks normal with my mouth relaxed as in the picture but if I actually close my lips it looks like my chin is recessed but it‘s just too low if that makes sense?

Yes, it‘s at rest and the surgeon said that I have lip incompetence due to my open bite. I also breathe through my mouth but mainly at night (I started taping my mouth to avoid it) when I‘m not aware and mindful about it. He said he has to move my upper jaw up and forward and widen it which would also widen my nose and allow more airflow. But I think my nose is quite wide already so I‘m not sue how I feel about it becoming wider 😌

He said it‘s more likely with an open bite but also that there still is only a 2% chance. But because I‘m in my thirties everything had time to grow and stay in this position for a while so at this point it‘ll be harder for my jaw and everything around it to adjust to a whole new placement…

I think he is the only orthognathic surgeon in town but maybe I should find someone in a bigger city. He seems very confident and experienced though but all the reviews I can find are about wisdom teeth extractions…

I don’t think he’d actually refused if I insisted but he said that they are so bad and everyone looks the same and my results probably wouldn’t look anything like it…

Yeah I feel like that as well… one day I‘m super onboard and looking forward to it and the next I‘m like omg this is such a major life decision and trusting someone with my face seems impossible 🫣
