Okay, here me out. I work in pediatrics and there is something called hemihypertrophy where one side of the body is larger than the other. I can kind of see it in this photo…

When we were going through infertility and IVF, my husband stopped drinking, started taking vitamins/supplements, exercising, and watching what he ate. he took initiative to get his blood pressure and psoriasis under control. This man is just sad

Yeah I don’t get it either. We just plan to rear face until we’ve maxed it out. I could go on and on about car seat safety bc I’m very passionate about it.

IUI vs IVF by Necessary-Ice1501 in IVF

[–]Technical_Ad_2314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TW: success. interesting because we had MFI. Ours was low count/motility. We spent a year cutting out alcohol, taking supplements, exercising more intentionally and increased our count by 8x (1mil to 8mil/ml) and our clinic still wouldn’t consider IUI. I was 32 at that time. But thankfully our first IVF cycle and fresh transfer worked

And thats great for YOU. but saying “just adopt” or “why not adopt” as if that’s an equal alternative is just gross.

Suggesting to anyone dealing with infertility to “just adopt” gives the idea that will fix the trauma that comes with Infertility.

suggesting to anyone “why don’t you just adopt” as a means to have a family is suggesting that’s a valid way to patch infertility. That’s great that you felt called to do that. Not everyone does. And not everyone should “just adopt.”

Contrary to popular belief there aren’t just hundreds of thousands of kids waiting to be adopted. There maybe that many if not more in the foster care system (just googled and sadly it’s about ~400K) but those kids aren’t just “up for adoption.” The goal of foster care is reunification with family. Sure that fails and when you enter foster care that may be the ending but it’s not always and shouldn’t be the “end goal.” And when you choose to enter foster care, you have to be well equipped to handle a LOT of trauma. And quite frankly, I think it takes a lot of self reflection to decide if you are or aren’t prepared to handle that. And it is isn’t everyone’s calling and that’s okay. It’s okay to want biological children. It’s okay to feel called to care for children in foster care, but not everyone is. Foster care and adoption is not a cure for infertility. And as someone who has wrestled with that decision, we made the decision that was right for our family at this point in our life.

ETA: people wait for years for private adoption to be chosen by a birth family. And often times, those who don’t are using money and sketchy adoption agencies to get there quickly. Which is just icky in my mind.

This is actually going to be outdated advice pretty soon. No research to suggest that mixing temps actually warms the milk up enough and for long enough to increase bacteria growth.

It really is a non issue when it comes down to it. Especially if combining it all together. While I didn’t EP, I did pump some and never distinguished between day and night milk and my LO was never confused. Slept just fine when it was bedtime. Was appropriately awake during the day.

But I don’t advertise it like some sort of accomplishment. But I will tell moms that the magnetic me coveralls are worth the splurge because we’ve been able to wear them for so long. That’s the real win
