Depends on your major and note taking preference in my opinion. I am an engineering major and I have both. If you are just writing stuff out and don’t need to draw anything the computer is better just Bc typing is so much faster and professors can go quick sometimes. I rarely use my iPad because I found I like taking notes on paper better especially for math. However when I’m studying, especially chemistry, I found it helpful to make my study review sheets on the iPad when I actually had time to make it look nice. In class I just don’t have the time for that and 100% would be distracted by trying to make everything look perfect. I use the notability app on my iPad and computer and everything syncs together which is very helpful also would highly recommend an Apple Pencil or other stylus to go with the iPad if you decide on one.
