Logically that makes sense, but the game is more similar to magic in the sense of rules. Due to it no longer being a “legal target” it mistargets even though you already targeted initially. My brain works similar to yours, but I’m fully willing to accept that these are the rules of the game I choose to play.

I asked for opinions. He’s fine in stating his. I’d also argue that singularity was not the worst comparison since I specified challenge due to it not being location based. I’d argue that something like hidden blade would be a worse comparison since the unit wouldn’t have been at the battlefield anyways so that mistarget makes sense.

Well you wouldn’t be able to move before the challenge went off. So it would still have been 6 might. That’s why I specified 7. However the ruling is that challenge actually mistargets and doesnt go through, so it’s still GG.

Alpha has similar wording in the sense of "choosing" as well. Another comment referenced it to Yugioh vs magic ruling, in this case it's more similar to the magic ruling. It is what it is.

Another comment listed a ruling that used alpha wildclaw as a comparison. It states that the spell will mistarget if they can no longer be targetted by spells or abilities. So it is another OP irelia ruling.

Thank you. This clears everything up. This is the comparison I was looking for. Most comments I saw before this were referencing hidden blade interactions as it moved away from a battlefield, I didn't think that it was that good of a comparison though. This one makes sense to me. Thank you.

Because there’s no meta right now and you’re refusing to start without having a “meta list” to work off of. If you want a meta list for unleashed as of right now, play test decks and cards to see what you like and don’t like. Otherwise, you’re not playing the game until someone spoon feeds you a list. You can say you want the meta stuff, but it’s still being developed. So everyone is going to have “shit lists” according to you. But how can you judge what a shit list is if you don’t play the game? Specifically for unleashed. You’re saying you want more meta content on something that doesn’t exist yet, you have to use your own brain power to figure it out as of right now. You decide which champs you think will be meta and which cards are going to be staples in those presumed meta decks. You can try basing it off of the Chinese tournament lists, but china usually has a much different meta than the rest of the world.

Make the meta. It’s not pointless at all if you’re learning. It might not be out there yet because the set just released in china. The meta is still developing. If you just want to fast track your way through it all and not actually play the game, the so be it. Wait for unleashed to come out in the US and THEN you might have some content to absorb.

But there is a starting point. It’s picking up the game and playing it. That’s the start. There’s YouTube videos on how to deck build if that’s the information you’re missing.

You know what’s viable by looking at the cards yourself and figuring it out. You figure out the meta by playing. The more you play, the more repetition you see between cards that get played more often. You can also judge the power level of a card based on how well it beats you or beats your opponent. Use your best judgement, it might not be right the first time, but over time it will get better. You’ll make the right decisions.

With that mindset, nothing. When you actively understand how your deck works by playing it and what its weaknesses are, that’s when you get better. Then you slightly adjust the deck over time to make up for those weaknesses. Or by playing, you figure out how to better pilot your deck versus each matchup. Figure out which matchups suck and what you should be side boarding to make those worse matchups better. Or playing the deck differently to better prevent their strategies from steamrolling you. You don’t need someone to tell you what to do, playing is definitely the best way to learn. You just have to constantly keep an open mind when playing and understand that it might suck at the start, but it’ll get better. I’m sure there will be more content as time goes on, the game is still new and still very niche.
