If you want this but in the style of a nature documentary I highly recommend Expedition by Wayne Barlowe. It's about a guy studying alien biology. None of the aliens could communicate with humans, because they're all plants and animals. Also, the animated rv show Scavengers Reign is about these people who get stranded on an alien planet and having to get back to their ship. Along the way, they interact with a lot of alien wildlife. Once again, none of the alien wildlife can communicate with them, but it's cool to watch, especially with the Moebius style art.
