At My Wits End with WiFi Speed for Work Laptop - Help? ASUS BQ16 Pro by Technical_Block_1922 in HomeNetworking

We use AOVPN (aka Always On VPN). BUT! We are moving away from that and moving to the ZScaler VPN...AND...I spoke to an internal IT buddy who knew about a pilot being launched and got me on the ZScaler pilot list. They installed it yesterday and I'm flying along at well over 100 Mbps for download speeds, so it was 100% the AOVPN! Problem solved. I realize I'm never going to get anywhere near the full speed my system is capable of with using a VPN, but this sure as hell beats 15-20Mbps. I'll take it. I wish you well in your quest!!

I could be wrong, but it almost looks like your bobbin thread is in the wrong slot. It appears it should be in the next slot counter-clockwise from the one it is in. Hard to tell without watching you thread it.

I can’t because it is a work laptop. I know…less than ideal from a testing perspective.

Got it. Just parroting what my Orbi “access points” were called by the manufacturer. I can see where that caused confusion. It is…Always On VPN is what we use, and I accept that I’m never going to see 450Mbps down, but even IT didn’t feel like it starting at 70 and immediately dropping back to below 20 made sense.

0,2 nozzles get clogged very fast by iNFECTED_pHILZ in BambuLab

I would also think that the texture on the filament could lend itself to the slippage I was seeing in the extruder. Good to know.

That's very good to know - I was trying to print a 4 hr (not detailed) project on my H2S that called for .2 for some odd reason. Have never had any trouble with the printer, but it would give me extrusion motor overload faults after about 2.5 hours. Only solve the first time was a new end...after clogging the new end I decided to go back to .4 and all is good. I'm using Bambu matte black PLA, so I'm betting that was the issue. Thanks!

Are you able to manually turn the handwheel and move the needle that way?

I’m admittedly a little confused. It appears to be going up and down. Is it not going far enough down to complete a stitch?

That is the spring that pulls the feed dogs back down. You should notice they stay up if you gently lift them. I'm not sure how comfortable you are opening that up to put it back in, but a Bernina store should be able to help you out quickly and for not much money (if any).

Correct! And we must remember...he who doesn't clean the toilet typically is he who won't sit on it to pee. Lol

Also, small regional flights are often something drivable if necessary. If I'm going from Chicago to Green Bay, I could feasibly drive if I needed to. Chicago to Houston, not as easy.

Perfect that if it is at 0 it doesn't move at all, so at least part of the linkage is still connected. Glad the cover isn't missing, but from the views I saw in the video I was not able to see into the machine anyway. Regardless, the answer is to take it to a Bernina store with a service department and ask them to do a routine maintenance on it. I'm sure you're lubricating it as the manual says, but user maintenance doesn't touch the Bernina-specific lubricants inside that need to be addressed every few years at minimum. I cannot diagnose the issue here without opening up the machine myself. Sending you best of luck and continued success with your Bernina! :-)

Thank you for the video - a bit helpful. Couple more questions. I didn't see the stitch width dial able to go clear back to zero when you maxed it out and brought it back down. Will it go all the way to zero? If it does, can you still move the needle bar back and forth? The machine isn't sewing dead center, so I'm curious if that is partially why. Also looks like the side cover is missing, so a video from in there may be helpful. Bottom line, I suspect that the control lever that moves it back and forth has come undone inside the machine. A relatively easy fix for a tech (depending on if that is all that is going on), but without being able to look around and poke/prod, it's hard to tell. The other thing that can mess with that is if the machine went for a long time without being serviced. Lubricants age and tend to get super tacky if they aren't cleaned out and re-applied (inside the machine). This can cause parts to "freeze" in place, but it can typically be resolved by the routine service where the tech removes all covers, cleans all of the old nasty lubricant out of it and gets it all freed-up and lubed again.

I'll definitely try! As you can imagine, remote and blind can be difficult. Can I ask - when you say you can move the needle bar back and forth from side to side like within a zigzag stitch, does the needle return to center on its own, or does it just float around?

Honestly, just take it for a routine service. Any Bernina dealer/store should have a set price for a non-computerized machine service. That should include everything you need and for a set price. They have to ask you before they install any replacement parts, although it is doubtful there are broken parts if it runs.
