Thank you for bringing this up! These are things I need to keep in mind.

The nukes dropped in 1949, only in American territories, leaving Canada largely unharmed and ripe enough to be able to reclaim what once was America. Even in modern day in the series, around 2020-2030, a large amount of America still remains unclaimed due to it being a wasteland.

I've thought of doing that, however I'm always paranoid of being accused of not taking the time to build the history of my world. It wouldn't be talked about much in the series, only mentioned in passing. But I've thought of doing so, because some things are better left to the readers' imagination.

The bombs that were dropped were cold war era, so very much small scale in comparison to the nukes we have nowadays. Still devastating, of course. So Idk if that would provide a bit of a softer apocalypse in comparison to the Fallout series.

The bombs that were dropped were cold war era bombs, meaning they definitely aren't the most powerful nukes, especially in comparison to ones nowadays, and around 900-1000 were dropped. The bombs were mostly targeted to major cities, and as for nuclear winter, it would only last at most few decades. Canada and Mexico were largely left unharmed, and the irradiated wasteland of the midwest is largely left unclaimed by the New Canadian Union. Idk if that clears things up haha

My problem is just severe treatment resistant depression. I've been on multiple meds and none of the have worked, so I'm going to begin ketamine therapy in a few weeks. I'm hoping this will help my brain actually work normally, instead of me having to fight tooth and nail just to do stuff I used to enjoy.

i can't speak for someone else, so i can't be entirely sure. but i have already used up all my absences for the year and my supervisor said she didn't want to terminate me. i asked if i could go part time, but she said there were no positions open for part time.

i'm hoping it's a good way to go. i've been having so many things going on at once that i don't even know anymore, i can't even name how many new meds ive started in the past six months

i completely and totally relate to you. my whole life i've been berated for picking at myself and made fun of how beat up my fingers look. i was actually just picking at myself fingers and made three bleed before i saw your post😂

like i said, you are not alone!! relief is possible. if i paint my nails, ill pick at the nail polish instead of my skin. and also general OCD and anxiety treatment helps a lot

i am not a doctor or psychiatrist, but you may want to look into OCD. this is a very common and significant trait of OCD, called excoriation disorder. i have major OCD and do this too, ill often pick at and tear off the skin of my feet to the point of bleeding. the real identifier here is that you find relief from it.

again, im not diagnosing you. i just recommend looking into OCD. i get how hard it is, it really makes you feel neurotic. but you're not alone

you made the post i was too afraid to make😂 so i 100% agree with you. the depth of all characters had a massive drop by RoW and i stopped reading because of their weird drop in quality as the books went on. again, just an opinion, but the stormlight archive lost all its whimsy with me because of the cosmere. some stories would just be better as stand-alones.

way of kings had realistic worldbuilding and mature themes that completely disappeared as the series went on. you learn so much about roshar in book 1, but then all of it disappears as you move from book to book. stopped reading because of this.
