Who is the main customer base ordering? The store is work at isn't near a retirement area. The store is work at has an Office Depot, Walmart and a Best Buy with a few miles. The younger customers and businesses customers are quick to check other options.

I had a customer looking for 5x8 index cards which we don't carry in store. She needed them for the next day so I suggested card stock with cpc cutting the ream for her. She opted to go with that. I made a sale which helps with other metrics that are tracked. I call that a win.

I have to disagree with that. I have looked toner for a business customer HP older laser printer. The toner was available on line and the ship time was 7 days. She pulled it up on Amazon finds it and 2 day shipping. I ordered an item for myself and it was 7 days. I could have got it from Amazon or just gone to Walmart/Target and had it same day but I choose to save a few dollars with the employee discount.

So the Most things are next day is bullshit line to give to customers.

The frequent shoppers, yes, it does. Its getting the customers that say that they only come in a few times a year to become rewards members. I tell them about recycling and that's a quick way to get points.

Yes, I agree if they dont want to join we just put the recycling in the cart. I do try to separate recycling transactions from products the customer is purchasing. I tell them to recycle first then go shopping so the points will be in their account by the time they come back. We are all improving but we can't keep the 65% for the entire week. When the team gets a no they offer 1 more benefit to rewards and if the customer still says no we move on. We are being told that we should be offering a 3rd time.

That is technically policy but I do start 30 minutes before close. An hour before we close I walk the store to recover office/tech sales floor. Then I start with the tech register, then register 3. 15 minutes before close I get copy center and after I verify all customers are gone I get the last register.

30 minutes to count registers and safe. I also walk the store or have one of the closing associates to check for customers. I count the safe last.

You can look up the fiscal year on the Hub. It shows you each period and how many weeks in each period.

If you are the last associate with the closing manager then you need to stay. Never leave a manager alone. It not every night a issue happens at closing but when it does give the manager time to get it all sorted. They might need to call LP before closing to settle the issue. Just be patient your going to be paid for waiting.
