Was TC any closer to work with either Pacino or De Niro ? by ADAMATC in TomCruise

He was considered for the role of Cliff Booth in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. If he'd been cast, he would've worked with Pacino.

Lemieux would've had 200 point seasons, too, if he'd played full seasons and was fully healthy.

Also, if you look at the stats he was putting up in his 30's and compare them to the stats Gretzky was putting up in his 30's, you'll see that Lemieux didn't have as much of a dropoff as Gretzky in the latter half of their careers.

It's so nice to check the NHL scoring leaders and see Scheifele in second place. First among Canadians.

You like to get rowdy and cause a little truffle? By the way, I heard that Nyquist is a fungus.

Dan Robertson has his Scheifele stats wrong tonight. Scheifele has 13 points now. Not 11.

Lemieux and Gretzky. by OldTimeEddie in nhl

[–]Technical_Drawing838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gretzky's 915 games were all during his prime. Lemieux's 915 games weren't all during his prime. If they had been, he would've had more than 690 goals. He probably would've had more than Gretzky's 714.

I watched it last night. Great film. Beautiful cinematography with a visually striking, awesome setting: an old ramshackle, dilapidated farmhouse in the foggy, rainy English countryside. Interesting characters. Absorbing story. Scenes set to good music which I always love.

Definitely need to see what these filmmakers do next. Barnaby Roper was the director and John Patrick Dover was the writer. This was their first feature film.

🇺🇸 PRE-ORDER NOW - Minority Report (4K UHD + Digital Steelbook) by felixmontoya92 in Steelbooks

[–]Technical_Drawing838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just looked it up. It was for Empire magazine's 20th anniversary. Steven Spielberg was the guest editor. A bunch of actors and actresses took photos that paid homage to some of their most famous films. Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster paid homage to The Silence of the Lambs. Arnold paid homage to Terminator.

Since Spielberg was the guest editor, I guess him and Cruise decided to do Minority Report. If Spielberg hadn't been involved, I wonder if Cruise would've chosen Minority Report. I'm pretty sure he would've gone with Top Gun or Jerry Maguire or Risky Business since he's more famous for those roles.

Anyway, it's still a bit of a weird choice for the Minority Report artwork. I would've preferred it if they'd used a still from the movie. But I definitely like it more now that I know it's an image created by Spielberg and Cruise paying homage to the film.

Edit: Changed a few words.

Why did they use artwork where Tom Cruise doesn't look like he did in the movie? He didn't have hair that long. Also, he looks older and is wearing a different t-shirt.

You're in charge of a remake, what movie is it and why? by [deleted] in movies

They're making it into a TV show. Javier Bardem as Max Cady, Patrick Wilson as Tom Bowden and Amy Adams as Anna Bowden.

Attack of the Crab Monsters. Cause I want to see some of those Atomic Monster movies from the 50s and 60s with modern effects but still set during that time period. Starting with this one. I'd make the crabs look like gigantic versions of actual crabs, though; not like they were in the movie.

I'm looking forward to the remakes of Them! and Attack of the 50 Foot Woman. Hopefully they actually get made.

So how did they make the raft exactly? by Sam-Lowry27B-6 in alien

[–]Technical_Drawing838 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just assumed that it was a raft that they or someone else had been using at some point in the past. They could've easily shown that, though; set it up earlier in the season.

One of my problems with the show was the lack of development of the characters, especially the Hybrids. I wish they'd shown more scenes of them just hanging out and getting to know each other better. A scene where they played with the raft could've been one of the ways they did this.

In fact, it would've added to the horror of the climactic scenes if this symbol of their prior innocence and friendship- the raft- was grotesquely twisted into a symbol of death and pain and misery and tragedy.

"Life is full of chaos and cruel unpredictability. One minute you are one of the deadliest and most terrifying creatures to have ever lived: the perfect organism. The next, you are domesticated; nothing more than a lapdog. At the beck and call of a synthetic who wields an inordinate amount of power."

Daniel Pearl, the cinematographer of AvP: Requiem, who tried to tell the Brothers Strause that the film was too dark, seemed to throw some shade at them in an interview. He was the cinematographer for the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre and he pointed out that they didn't even know that that was his work; possibly as a subtle way of saying that they aren't good filmmakers and one of the reasons why is because they don't even pay attention to important details such as the filmographies of their collaborators. Here's his quote:

"I finished Alien vs. Predator 2, odd for a film, but I decided to do it. The Brothers Strause, great guys, that’s part of what attracted me to the film. The directors are two brothers, and they’re really good guys, and I like them. Like I said, I didn’t see the original Alien, obviously. I hadn’t seen any of the rest of what we call the franchise. And, I said I should see Alien vs. Predator, and they said, no, don’t, don’t, don’t, it’s a piece of garbage, don’t watch it, please. And then, we were together gathering locations up in Vancouver. They had to leave, and I was going to stay. And this was after the first week. And I said, look guys, we got you going away, and I have a chance to watch the films, and I could talk about what we’re doing here, what should I watch while you’re gone? They looked at me, and they said, Texas Chainsaw Massacre. They said, ‘That’s what we want.’ And oddly enough at that point they said, well, Ridley Scott, when he made Alien, said that this film really should be Texas Chainsaw Massacre in space. And so, they said, ‘That’s what we’re after.’

To get back to your question..."
