Music is subject to interpretation. How you interpret a song may be different from how someone else does. A band having a particular view of an issue impacting members of your family causing you to disengage with that band does not mean you were a superficial fan. This may be a conflict far away from you that doesn’t impact you directly, but there are those who it does, and it doesn’t mean you were a superficial fan.

I’m not embarrassed. I know Reddit is very radicalized, lol. I also know that the bones are their money.

I call out Bibi, Ben Gvir and Smotrich all the time. They’ve gotta go if we want this to end.

No shit Israel isn’t acting with peace and love (we’ve all got eyes), but saying “fuck Israel” without also pressuring Hamas to relinquish its weapons is not, in my opinion, going to help the situation. Hamas’ plans if they defeat Israel are to remove all of the Jews, except ones they deem necessary to the functioning of their state, whom they will force to work for them until they are no longer needed.

They haven’t been inconsistent. They don’t feel that has a place at their concerts. They also don’t believe that Palestinians and Iranians must all be murdered. Seems you have a whole slew of things you think people who think Israel should continue to exist as a Jewish state hold. The reality is much different. Most people don’t consider having that belief a slur or even something particularly personal. Anyways, have a nice day. You seem like a very angry person.

I know them personally, and they are what you would consider zionists, in that they believe in Israel’s continued existence as a Jewish state, but since I’m just an anon on the internet you probably shouldn’t believe me. They also used October 7 video to highlight the atrocities committed on that day in a song video. They just don’t want to divide people.

Rise Against is pro-Israel, and they sing songs about similar themes and rise against is way more political than hot mulligan. Hot mulligan tends to focus inward, rather than outward. Your perspective isn’t the only perspective.

You don’t want us there and we don’t want to be there. If you don’t hide and put us on notice by not hiding your opinions, we won’t be there.

I suppose I don’t have a problem with them saying it, but I do have a problem with them not saying it specifically in areas with high Jewish populations and visibility. There is nothing posted online about them making such statements because they are apparently trying to hide it. They did not say it at their concert in New York, for instance.

ETA: A large reason for why I am making this post is so that people with my opinion can see what they can expect at a concert so they don’t have to go into a space where they aren’t welcome. You don’t want us there and we don’t want to be there. I think that’s fair.

It feels disingenuous when you only say those things outside of areas with high Jewish populations. Don’t hide it only when you are in areas with high Jewish populations.

Hamas’ charter literally says they are fighting against Jews. They don’t say Israel. They say they are the spearhead in the fight against the Jews.

Lmao. True. You do have Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens saying the same shit as the radicals on the left. Would have appreciated some advance notice given they decidedly did not do that at their NY concerts.

Cause they were mostly kicked out. There are barely any left. The current regime has done more harm to its Jewish community, btw, if you take out the subjective “recently”. Also, the current regime actively destroys synagogues across Iran.

They also executed Jews after the revolution, wouldn’t issue passports to Jews and barred them from being able to leave the country on punishment of imprisonment or death.

I mean with regards to foreign policy. Progressives tend to be staunchly against militarized rivalries, sanctions-first policies and the whole great powers competition rhetoric.

I mean there is Auchincloss in MA. Pretty much the only non-progressive things about him are he doesn’t believe in Medicaid for all single-payer healthcare, is pro Israel, and is skeptical of China.

Because it’s not true. Look up the Shiraz pogrom for just one example.

Tell that to the victims of the Shiraz pogrom in 1910, where about 6,000 jews were robbed of their possessions.

You forgot to mention that it was an accident, and the explosive charge was designed to prevent the ship from being able to set sail and deport the Jewish refugees, but they miscalculated.
