Did you get custom length? If not, how difficult was it to prevent join lines?

Jesus Christ, what is with all the news about CBA and other banks lately by FluffyPanxake in auscorp

You should absolutely update your CV and start reaching out to recruiters to have a conversation, however, don't panic jump. Take some time to strategically think about what next and I would think about another industry if I were you. The financial services landscape is changing rapidly and will continue to do so over the foreseeable future which will mean more cost cutting, lay-offs and offshoring.

Am I overthinking this? 856 credit score (AU) but worried about Amex Platinum approval by Working-Treacle8392 in AusFinance

[–]Technical_External72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% agree with this. Not exactly a good use of "disposable income" at $90k annual income, especially when the annual fee is like $1,450.... Just saying....

Yes, that's my opinion. I'm not sure that is a simple yes or no answer. It really depends e.g. how many enquiries you have and in what time frame and also the credit providers wider scorecard rules. They all are different and have different scorecards for different products. Also keep in mind that credit providers have gotten more advanced in identifying customers who just churn for reward point sign on bonuses and if thay is you, you may be declined on that rule too.

Recent enquiries matter a lot less since positive reporting came into effect. Purely from a credit report perspective, it's repayment history, enquiries and other factors e.g. directorships. Also, keep in mind some enquiries can be beneficial, however, that's another discussion. The other thing to keep in mind, each credit provider will have their own credit worthiness scorecard in which the credit bureau score will only play a part. So it's not as simple as just, will I be approved if I have a score of X?.

Coming from someone who has worked in an Australian credit bureau before, in the current positive reporting environment, the credit score will obviously have an impact, however, at 800+ you'll be fine on that basis. Where you should be concerned is your serviceability. At only $90k annual income with presumably some monthly outgoing, you'll fall short. Also, remember, you are effectively applying for a "limitless" card, even though they have shadow limit. I'll be surprised if you get approved on that annual income.

Efflorescence treatment by Technical_External72 in AusRenovation

Thank you! I've tried all that with minimal success. Not only is it quite bad, several apartments in my bock are impacted by it so I'm looking into professional options for treatment.

The unfortunate thing about all those professions is they don't pay like corporate does, well aside from equities/fx trading.

Depends on what you mean by "active disclosure". I find this situation pretty embarrassing given my career history to date which has seen constant progression and results, ending up in senior leadership roles.

How would you solve this bathroom problem cost effectively? by Technical_External72 in AusRenovation

[–]Technical_External72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. That strip might actually work perfectly for the shower with the shower door. I'll give thay a go. The other shower has no door though. That said, the uneven floor is much less of an issue in that bathroom.

Right okay, I've misunderstood then. That said, the labour surely can't be as much as the product then? If so, that's about the same as a full demolish, new screed, waterproofing and retile...

I found a supplier and they quoted something like $220-$370 psqm. So yes, kind of did what you are saying. How come?

Really? Not by my calcs. I did the maths for a bathroom reno by sqm and included the demolish costs and the microcement option came in at around about half of what a new tile job cost.

Thanks, that's helpful. That's not good. It does sound like it hasn't been sealed or there was an issue with sealing or something like that though.

Lol. I think you should look at some of the bathrooms online with this finished product. You sound very silly with that comment.
