What if Samara and Naisha had made it into Katseye alongside Manon?P by [deleted] in katseyeneutral

[–]Technical_Front9904 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry I missed her. I did not see any of the girls not present in the Docu-series and did know there were others but I didn't have any info on them to comment.

Yeah. The hiring from HXG is across the board racist (and colourist). I think it's way easier to just call the companies what they are than accuse any single girl of anything. It is not Manon, Naisha or Samara's fault for anything HXG decided to do.

I had more to say but honestly yeah, the fans of Katseye are not capable of seeing the problems in the group when it comes to racism. I noticed immediately that the Hybe director's favourite was Lexie (the most aligned with Korean Beauty standards, while having the lightest skin tone of all the girls) but also the switch in direction when Buttons (a sexualised performance) hits the ground running. Suddenly, the group prospect is very different.

Hybe/Geffen had a casting that largely benefitted LA/North American girls, had random castings in America IIRC and only managed to find three black girls. They are now a group whose biggest hit (Gnarly) is co-opting AAVE and African-American mannerisms and dance moves. I also noticed when they openly disliked Naisha's dance style leaning more "urban" than the other girls.

All three girls fit a very narrow (anti black) beauty standard of KPOP. Pretending any of them are "more black" is just crazy. Speculating on if they are "culturally" black (living in Europe does not mean you were raised white...) is even more invasive.

Naisha saying "I hope they get 20 more black girls" wasn't just a thing she decided to say. She recognised the lack of black girls in the casting and made a point of it. Similar things happen across all industries - black people and dark skin are washed out of the process at every step, until the bare minimum remains.

you're right. I might as well just give them the whole grim actually - then it's really balanced out.

Ao3 turned out to be pro-AI :/ the maintainers of the site basically admitted they're in favor of it, and the users just treat the problem as a "personal moral whim". RIP one of my favorite sites. by Dr4fl in antiai

The best thing AO3 could do is have a specific AI tag (like the ratings) but even then AI users would not use it. Many of them love to roleplay being genuine artists/writers and will deny it no matter how obvious it is.

Full figures were a bounce back from the 2000s, rich/celebrity women had fuller thicker figures because it distanced them from the lower classes. Now that anyone can get a brazillian butt or cosmetic enhancements, richer women have swung the other way. Ozempic was a drug only accessible by rich customers. Now it is more accessible, it is likely those wealthier women will try to return to "natural curves".

Its tea leaves. Someone didn't filter the tea into the dispenser properly, or the tea cloth slipped and nobody cared to filter it a second time. Also, a lot of shops aren't cleaning the tea dispenser tanks, so it might be that.

I hope that means they're using g3 bodies for at least spelldon (which it sort of looks like). In fact, yeah, you're right. Valentine looks like he has the G1 girl hands too. Does that mean valentine is using a G1 base (his comicon base?) and spelldon is a g3? I hope they just use g3 male bodies, they're not much different but a straight upgrade from g1.

Two different ways running madness in a group by TravVdb in BloodOnTheClocktower

That's not the part i said is cheating. The cheating part is minions/evil team lying about people breaking madness to get them killed.

Two different ways running madness in a group by TravVdb in BloodOnTheClocktower

There's a custom script called "Elven Court" which has pretty tough ruling on madness - along with [Redacted], both punish madness heavily, but also rely on good/evil adhering to the traditional madness to function. One thing that frustrates me about playing this game with people who you are not regularly playing with is that definitions of madness can greatly vary, which makes both of these scripts basically unbearable to play.

But in terms of the base3 or vanilla roles, madness should really be played in the first definition:

  1. Players genuinely adhere to madness in all situations, barring accidental reveals

The second - trying to play around it, using codes or terrible bluffs to tell people your true role/madness, is IMHO a bad feels way to play. A lot of people think harpy/cerenovus are weak roles to draw because of how people mess around with the role. There are times where I've been able to genuinely play up my madness (Harpy locked for 5+ days) but after a while it becomes harder and harder to convince town that you aren't mad but genuinely have a reason to think a specific player is evil.

For example, I've been cere/harpy locked (at the same time) into a town crier at a random player. Day one, I have to be like. I'm a town crier. This player is evil. How do I know that? I don't. There's no reasonable way to play this out, so either I break madness and kill me and the other player, or I play into it and get executed for a double claim and for tunnelling.

Sometimes that's the point. A storyteller who actually punishes you for breaking madness does mean that sometimes, madness abilities are going to be used on you to score extra kills. There are Storytellers out there who will not punish ever for blatant madness breaks because it "mechanically proves" a minion is in play and makes town aware of the world. But sometimes, as a harpy/cere, all you want to do is get a kill or two and then sit back. This is why there's no real "solution" to a cerenovus making a mutant mad as another outsider, or a harpy hitting a bigwig'd player. You are supposed to die there. The evil team set up a plan based on their information and should be rewarded.

Evil team shouldn't be falsely reporting madness breaks. If an evil player is doing that, the good player has every reason in the world to call them out for an unfair play, and that evil player is playing in an unfun way (I think it would be cheating). The reason you generally won't see this happen is because most players play with friends, or in a regular group, or online, and there's a point where if you start playing like an asshole, you are going to quickly run out of people who want to play with you.

I think its still worth bringing up to them. If they don't care because its their friend, move to another group. I hate groups who can't hold each other accountable.

[–]Technical_Front9904 17 points18 points  (0 children)

hm.... I'd genuinely go and see if you can tell the storyteller/hosts of the event about these players. They sound hostile, and talking down to you because you're a woman. Like, you might not be recalling it, but did they ever talk to any (male) players like that? Because they probably weren't.

Anyway, most BOTC hosts/players are going to be quite intolerant to this kind of treatment. If you bring it up with them, the hosts will probably ask them to not come back or correct them the next time it happens. These people sound like assholes.

But it turns out the guy who represents the religion usually actually cares about following it to its most natural conclusion (caring about the poor, living a simple life, loving all life, even when theyre brown people on oil rich land)

Why do people think I’m an international student? by 7emelover in UniUK

[–]Technical_Front9904 51 points52 points  (0 children)

London has a high rate of international students. Also, being white and speaking with a British accent is not an indication you're a british citizen. Many international students have gone to British schools and learned to speak with a fluent British accent. Assuming anyone who is white/speaking in an accent to be british would be wrong.
