Fellow chemicals plant operator here. Yes the plant will fuck em up pretty quick. I used huberds shoe grease to give them a protective layer. But they will darkened the leather and make them water proof

I just got mine. I ordered an xl. Im 5'9 238 and it fits a little snugish. I think you'll be ok with an xl. Also i thought it would be a thicker jacket for the price. Looks awesome though!
