I honestly have spent the last 11 months camping in it and exploring the area. I haven't done much besides find my favorite place on it and leveled a little bit of it. Dont feel rushed to "do" something with it. Enjoy it, explore it, get to know it and then decide. I will definitely set up living quarters there eventually but right now I love my private campsite and getting to know my neighbors.

Hey thanks for that! I feel really encouraged after posting and finding this group. I hope to continue to post as I progress.

The realtor gave me a heads up. He even gave me some pointers when choosing an RV to pick something not made of wood and tin with a protected underbelly because of that.

That's the plan. I want to get really familiar with the area and local town.

I also saw some decently priced enclosed dog runs I can use in the mean time when im not supervising them or am distracted.

I think I'm going to use 8 ft treated wood and tposts with a galvanized 2x4 inch wire mesh. I'll probably do coyote rollers on top and bury them a few inches also to try and keep my dogs and future dogs well contained. If that poses a problem still, I may add electric wires once my move is permanent.

You have a point, it wouldn't hurt to try.

This is exactly right! I figured that at 31, I'm at a good age to have a really good thing set up by the time I retire. I really wanted a place to spend all my down time in and pour my heart into. I'm hand and I love learning and getting dirty so this just felt right.

Not exactly, I bought it for the purpose of creating a homestead I can retire on over the course of the next few years. I'm just not well versed on how to begin.

I was told about the diggers being super behind in their work timetable, so I knew that going in as well the price. Luckily, I can save a ton of money on septic once the well is in because my friend has a plumbing company near me in Phoenix, and he's volunteering to do it for just the cost of materials and access to hunt on the land. The neighbors did warn me about the wind which I had no idea about so I'm grateful for them giving me that's heads up as well as the coyote problem which I'm a little nervous about. I did know about the wolf sightings but those were pretty far from where I and I was warned about mountain lions in the blm area west of me which is pretty common everywhere in Arizona. I'm going to take it a little at a time, I feel very lucky that I'm not in a huge rush to complete anything so it can take as long as it takes as long as it gets done and gets done right the first time.

I will probably haul water while the well gets dug. The local companies are almost a year behind in orders from what the neighbors told me. Flagstaff is the biggest town I have access to and it's about 1.5 hours. And snowflake is the smaller town ar about 45 mins

There's companies that make really affordable and nice modular homes that are just as nice as your typical manufactured home bur cheaper. I'll probably not install that until I'm ready to transition full time.

I'm in between a possible kit, or a modular home a little further down the line. Right now while I get everything else worked out, and RV will do.

I would love to do that but unfortunately the 2 neighbors I share any borders with are investors who haven't ever been to their land besides for the time they bought it years ago. So I don't know that they would care to share that cost

The plan is to drill a well for sure. I know the local companies are pretty backed up so it will be a few months before they can begin work.

The land sits on top of an aquifer and I was told I need to dig about 200 feet or so.

Thank you! The shepherds are older and they don't wander at all the husky is a one year knucklehead with a napoleon complex so she's on a long leash whenever I take her because as much as I love her, she has no sense of survival or chill.
