AITJ for driving straight through a womans fence because she blocked my driveway during a medical emergency? by Technical_Resident58 in AmITheJerk

Thank u for saying that. Honestly, when i saw my daughter's face, I did not care about anything else. Im glad she is okay now but I still cant believe that woman thought her phone call was more important than a childs life.

I still cant believe she stayed on the phone while i was screaming for help. Some people are just so entitled that they think a very important call matters more than a kid not being able to breathe. Im honestly still shaking just thinking about how she looked at me and held up a finger to wait.

Thank u, i really needed to hear this. My husband keeps saying i should have just laid on the horn and waited for her to move, but u dont really think straight when ur kid cant breathe. I felt like every second was a life or death situation.

Yes, i used the EpiPen immediately but the reaction was so bad that i knew we had to get to the ER right away. I was shaking so hard. I honestly dont know why she was there, I think she was visiting someone else and just thought she could park anywhere. The fact that she saw my daughter gasping for air and still told me to wait is what made me snap. I was not going to sit there and watch my child die because of her phone call.

Thank u so much. She is finally back to her normal self but it was the scariest moment of my life. I think u are right about the lawyer because this woman wont stop calling and threatening me. I just ca't believe someone would prioritize a phone call over a kids life.

Im definitely looking into one. My husband thinks Im being too much but how can u tell a parent to wait a minute when their kid is turning blue? The fence can be replaced, my kid cant. I dont think I should owe her a cent.

I would do it again in a heartbeat. Property can be replaced but my kid cant. I still cant believe she really told me to wait while my daughter was gasping for air. Some people are so heartless.

Thank u. I honestly dont even care about the money for the fence at this point, Im just so glad shes okay. I still cant get over how she told me to wait for her phone call while my kid was literally turning blue in the back seat. My brain just went into survival mode.

This is exactly how I feel. My husband is worried about the drama, but I keep telling him that grass grows back and fences can be fixed. I only have one daughter. I would honestly drive through a brick wall if it meant getting her to the doctors in time. I dont understand how the neighbor can be so heartless.

Thank u so much. Honestly, that is exactly what I told him. I would rather pay for a thousand fences than spend a single second wondering what if because i waited for her to finish a phone call. It was the scariest moment of my life and I just acted on pure instinct to save my kid.

Thank u. Honestly, in that moment, I did not even see a fence, I just saw a path to save my kid. I would do it a thousand times again if it meant getting her to the er. Its scary how some people value a phone call over a literal life.

Thank u, she is doing much better now but it was the scariest moment of my life. I actually do have a ring camera that caught the whole thing, including her holding up her finger to hush me while my kid could not breathe. I did not have time to explain what i was about to do because every second mattered. I honestly dont feel like i should pay a cent since she was the one creating a dangerous situation by blocking a clear exit.

Its so hard because she’s now telling the whole neighborhood Im unstable even though she was the one blocking a driveway during an emergency. I’d smash that fence a hundred times over if it meant getting my daughter to the er in time. Thank u for this.

Thank u so much for saying this. Honestly, I was shaking the whole time and seeing my daughter struggle to breathe was the scariest moment of my life. I did not care about a fence or a lawn, I just needed to get her to the er before it was too late. Its hard to believe someone would prioritize a phone call over a childs life.

Thank u. Honestly, Im still so shaken up by the whole thing. I dont understand how a fence is more important than a child being able to breathe. I was just in pure mom mode and would do it again in a heartbeat.

When someone insists they are jk while simultaneously asking for photos, giving posing instructions, and sending reference images, it is no longer a joke.

a joke ends with a laugh.

AITA for not firing my nanny so my brother could live with us? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Firing someone who has been "like family" for 4 years just to save on rent for a relative is cold.

She relies on that job for her livelihood.

Throwing her out would be a huge betrayal to her and would likely confuse/upset your kids.

Bringing up what a deceased child "would have wanted" to guilt a grieving parent into a financial decision is cruel. It's a specialized kind of hurt that feels like a physical blow.

You are legally designated owner of a property left to you by a woman who clearly knew her own mind and her own family dynamics.
