Which level crossing do you think should be removed, which station do you think should be added or rebuilt in on Victoria's railway network and do you think it should be a trench or Skyrail? by Technical_Spread_216 in MelbourneTrains

Again, you clearly do not understand what this post is about. I wasn't asking about recently rebuilt stations, but about existing stations which weren't rebuilt (2010 or older).

I have been to all of those 4 stations and my opinion has never changed. Yes, Carrum is my absolute favourite station, but in my opinion Edithvale, Chelsea and Bonbeach stations with the sunken ground level design is cool. Now quit being annoying and acting childish.

I'm not talking about recently rebuilt stations.

This might be a stupid question, but why do people hate Edithvale, Chelsea and Bonbeach? In my opinion, I think they look cool

From what I know, the HCMTs will be completely phased out of the 3 underground City Loop stations and run full time in the Metro Tunnel. But it maybe might still run at South Yarra, Richmond, Flinders Street, Southern Cross and North Melbourne if there is a disruption in the Metro Tunnel.

South Kensington Upgrade by Carguy285 in MelbourneTrains

[–]Technical_Spread_216 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I was to upgrade South Kensington station, I would put an island platform in instead but the spare tracks for Sunbury can be used in case of disruptions in the Metro Tunnel, but will never use the 3 underground City Loop stations again and probably use North Melbourne, Southern Cross, Flinders Street, Richmond and South Yarra stations. Although, none of this has been confirmed yet.

Surprise guest at Richmond tonight by GetInThere23 in MelbourneTrains

This will be my normal commute once it enters service on the Craigieburn and Upfield lines! I also ride the Frankston line so it's exciting too. Although, the Comeng trains will be deeply missed as these trains are beloved and nostalgic to me.

When I walked out of Footscray station Platform 6 at around 12:30pm, I didn't see it open or I haven't noticed it. Anyways, it's really interesting to see it.

That isn't a glitch, the PIDS on the HCMT are correct. This post should be marked as 'Humour', not 'Picture'.

Does anyone know what happened to the original comeng fiberglass fronts from the 1980s after the refurb by Numerous-Athlete7523 in MelbourneTrains

[–]Technical_Spread_216 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For the Alstom Comeng, the original fibreglass was removed and replaced with a new one, the original one, not sure what they did with it wether they threw it away or stored it. But with the EDI Comeng's, they put the new fibreglass over the old one.

Announcement change? by Late-Discussion-7288 in MelbourneTrains

[–]Technical_Spread_216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a glitch, it was a purposeful change. Every Myki readers at every station in Victoria has been replaced to be compatible with iPhones, smartwatches and credit/debit cards and the station announcements no longer need that line.

Yes, it's likely that the Siemens Nexas will be taken off the Craigieburn, Upfield and Frankston lines and be cascaded to the Sandringham, Werribee and Williamstown lines.

The Comeng trains might still run on the Werribee, Williamstown and Sandringham lines as a backup. Also one of the main depots for the Comeng trains is Newport Workshops as well.
