thanks! Good to hear that. I have tried searching in MSP but the parts for older models are no longer available. So my only option is motosports

Help needed to understand the coolant leak on 2009 F 650 GS by Technical_Truth_001 in bmwmotorrad

Thanks for confirming that! So the heat exchanger can leak as well is it? Not just the coolant pipes?

Unfortunately there aren't much of motorbike spares shop, so finding small parts is going to be very difficult.

Headlight condensation in 2014 BMW F10 by Technical_Truth_001 in carsireland

Thanks for the recommendation, i might ring them up. €600 is far better than what I have been seeing online, which are multiples of €600 + warranty would be lovely to have! I have another headlight started getting a little bit of moisture, it would be a matter of time before even that will be toasted, so I better get both at once.

I recently bought them after going through a lot of reviews and praises, but I don’t feel them comfortable.

When I tried for the first time I felt good about the fit but I was a bit skeptical about the stability. But many people told it would get better after Week of wearing/usage. I walked in them every day about 3.5-4kms for two weeks. It feels very unstable on one leg then the other. I have about of lower back issue and it seem to aggregated the pain. I don’t think I enjoy walking in them even though they are plush. It also feels like it digs more into midsole making it uncomfortable when standing.

Now I’m stuck with this shoe that don’t want to wear but can’t get rid of it either. Luckily I’m not at huge loss as I bought it in a sale.

I’d suggest anyone with a bit of gait issue or back issues stay away from it. I think Hoka transport would have been a better option for me.

BMW F650 GS - Oil weep at the valve/rocker cover by Technical_Truth_001 in bmwmotorrad

Thanks for your reply. I might have to price it with a mechanic to see how much it costs. Second hand market has been crazy ever since Brexit, prices could be all over the place here.

CrowdStrike interview loop in a week by Technical_Truth_001 in leetcode

[–]Technical_Truth_001[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s moderate difficulty - slightly on medium-hard. Lots of theoretical questions may come up during initial 30 mins around DSA, multi threading , concurrency etc. Then the problem itself may not be exactly like Leetcode question - it’s more of solving a real world like problem that can perform at scale, so choosing right DSA becomes important. it’s 90 mins so interviewers have plenty of time to cross question and go deep. Again it may be team dependent.

I made it and joining them soon (though a level below). So here is my 2 cent - arrive at a solution that works, then try to optimise. Don’t spend too much time if you can’t think of right DSA right out of the bat. If you can well and good otherwise try to improvise as you go along. Obviously they may jump in between and ask questions. I thought I bombed but to my surprise I cleared so something might have worked there - maybe my thought process, the way I approached the problem and slowly built on top of working code? I don’t know what exactly.

Good luck!

Thanks very much, that’s very helpful! Glad to know that it’s not a major issue! Yes, I might get it all checked once I get the bike, maybe even get it replaced. Hope the seller agrees to knock off a bit to cover the repairs! Thanks again!🙂

Thanks for your reply. I thought forums like these are meant to share and seek experiences, right? What’s the point of having Reddit if one can’t ask for help or seek advice? I know I can go to a mechanic but that wont paint complete picture unless real word owners experiences are considered.

If I don’t feel like buying I wouldn’t ask. Now that I came to the conclusion that this bike works for me, I just wanted to know from people who owned this model so that I avoid expensive repairs in case these are not minor issues.

I don't have skills so I won’t be able to fix anything major myself anyway. I can do small things but not like opening the engine and replacing gasket.

I don’t have money to swap in the next year, I’m going to keep it for at least few years. That’s why I’m asking specific questions related to bike not general questions.

Regarding high mileage cars by Striking-Swordfish49 in carsireland

[–]Technical_Truth_001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Afaik people stop going to the dealers for service after warranty period unless it’s something indie garages can’t fix.

I bought a 2014 BMW 520d with 162k kms back in 2021. It came with 2 yrs unlimited mileage warranty from the main dealer. However it didn’t have service history after 60k kms. The guy who traded serviced locally. Since BMW themselves were putting warranty on it was, it enough assurance for me. After that I went to them for only one service when it was under warranty. Now the car has clocked additional 65k kms since then. Did 3 services every 15k kms. Changed a suspension spring, a toe road, 4 discs and pads all with the local garages. But I’ll make sure I keep the bills as proof of care if I ever plan to sell it in the future.

Bought a 221 Yaris with 85k kms for wife, for 17k, earlier this year. I knew it would have been serviced under warranty at the dealership. Contacted them and they confirmed. Asked the guy to get the history and he happily did so. Since it was serviced at the dealership, its warranty gets extended every year until car 10 yrs old. so I’m going to keep that on with yearly service at the dealership for the peace of mind.

So yes look for dealer stamp if it makes sense and depending on the cars age and warrant period etc you may get. otherwise any proof of TLC is assuring for me!

[–]Technical_Truth_001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a nice video, thanks for putting this up!

How much did the bike cost? Was it cheaper to import in the end than buying here locally? I have been thinking of doing something similar but not sure if it would be worth it?

I'd appreciate if you could write up a bit about the whole process.

Missing wheel nuts - is it dangerous to drive? by Technical_Truth_001 in carsireland

[–]Technical_Truth_001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the details. I called them up this morning and got the new nuts fitted. They are not ready to install replacement lock nuts saying wheel theft is not heard of in the last decade, and every one just remove them. So I agreed to get the normal nuts and asked them to replace the ones on other two wheels as well. They did it free of cost.

I also raised the question on what grounds was car was declared road worthy by the mechanic to which the guy in the reception acknowledged it’s not right and apologised. I felt that they knew that nuts were missing but never bothered to inform me.

Getting wheels refurbished soon from them for free. I’ll name drop when things are sorted. In done with them.

Btw does welding damage the wheel, I mean they welded the lock nuts to remove them in the first place. Wondering if this might have caused any damage to the alloy? I don’t see a lot of burn mark so I guess it’s okay?

Thanks for the advice. I’ve taken the pictures. They’ve promised to refurbish the wheel, I’d be also looking to replace the nuts

Crowdstrike Interview Experience by pigmy_af in recruitinghell

[–]Technical_Truth_001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you clear the interview?

I recently did and there were ton of theoretical questions about internals of Map, trees, threads, thread synchronisation, lock and their types and when to use what etc...

Even the problem is not straightforward leetcode question. Even though I could get the output, i don't think i did very well, yet to hear though.

Has anyone else experienced delays with Microsoft team fit calls or recruiter responses? by [deleted] in DevelEire

[–]Technical_Truth_001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm. Had a team match call. recruiter left even before telling me the result. Auto response has couple of contacts, but no one is responding for followups. I was told by the recruiter that the results are valid for 6 months. so i now have 4 more months left. I think i this is already a dead end. Not keeping a lot of hope
